Well... at least this week was less soul crushing.  How big did that stripped ball run back for a TD turn out to be!?  OR the pick at the goal line?  Those really hurt, but it was nice to see them compete for once.  Cribbs and Rogers were impressive.

^ Right... at least they competed.

But a loss is a loss.

And they are a disturbing 1-9 at home in their last 10 games at CBS.

  OUCH!!

A loss is a loss...

But I do feel a little better, this season is over but at least I have hope that we wonm't be starting over again next year, which from the first 3 weeks I thought we would be.

It really all boils down to a major issue among others.... the inability to stop the 3rd and long. 3rd and 14. 3rd and a lifetime and they still cannot stop it.... did better yesterday in a few instances of such, but when it counted the most...3rd and 14...they caved.

Agreed!

I'm 99% sure of this...

Cleveland will have the Gay Games before its football team has a Super Bowl appearance.

Who'd have thunk that in one of America's most blue-collar towns?

How low have we dipped when we are relegated to feeling good about a heart-wrenching loss in the last seconds of overtime?

Feeling good? No.

Feeling better than the last 3 week? Yes

Losses I can take, Cleveland fans are conditioned to take heartbreaking last second losses. I have a big callus on my heart that has built up over the years to handle that. The public humiliation of the end of last year and the first 3 games of this year really were sticking me in a new uniquely painful spot.

They're 1-3 as far as I'm concerned.  Good effort yesterday, but they just didn't convert the opportunities given to them and they still made too many costly mistakes.  They progressed this week, though, and that's all you can ask at this point.  Improvement every week.

In any case it looks like Anderson is the QB for the near future.  Now if Mangini comes out and starts Quinn next week I might just lose it.

You're right! Ha!

Let's go 'green-collar'

I wonder if he dropped him like he dropped that pass yesterday!!

View is always good for a fight or a shooting.  Glad to have it in my neighborhood.

Considering were now a white collar town, its sad no matter what the collar is!

But what does the gay games have to do with this?  I sense a lil homophobia in that remark.  Not cute!

I would like to thank Braylon Edwards and whatever LeBron's hangeron's name is for bringing even more negative national media coverage to a team that is already the laughing stock of the NFL.

Thank you again

Signed

With every dropped pass and each incident of bad behavior his trade value goes down.  Maybe Dallas will want him

Maybe Dallas will want him

LOL. Funny. Maybe Al Davis will be willing to talk too?

LMAO!! I can't wait to show this to my boyfriend. He's gonna LHAO too !!!!!!!!!

0-4.  Oh well,

Go Cavs!

Braylon traded to jets...

Braylon traded to jets...

Not sure how I feel about this one. But my gut reaction is this a good move. Looks like we got a WR and a no name LB plus two draft picks (unconfirmed).

Is BQ next? Mangini really is cleaning house.

:-D :-D And Joe Thomas better watchout he has the scarlet P for Phil  on his forehead too! :-D :-D

Great move!  Braylon was going to book town at the end of this year anyways.  At least we got a good package for him.  Honestly, I'm surprised this didn't happen before the season.

This likely means more time for Massaquoi and Robiskie, which is excellent.

I liked the Jets a little bit before this, but now I will be viciously rooting against them.

Yeah, i'm with you.  Despite all the issues, I was still holding onto hope for Edwards.  According to ESPN, Cleveland is getting a special teams ace.... but is that what we really need?  I don't know anything about the WR that we are getting, and 3rd and 5th round draft picks don't get me really excited.

I think your right, Quinn might want to start packing his things.  I can't believe how fast this all came about.

Oops there goes Sanchez's completion ratio. BE is good for a couple of drops a game....

Quinn won't get shipped until the offseason, unless of course he wants to start getting in bar fights, in which case he'd be gone within 48 hours.

Braylon Edwards is enormously talented.  But he also can't consistently catch a football.

I'm assuming the bar fight had at least a smidgen to do with this.....

Link to NY Daily News article ironically titled: WHAT A CATCH!

Desperate to find a proven starter to pair with Jerricho Cotchery, the Jets have traded for disgruntled Browns WR Braylon Edwards, the Daily News confirmed Wednesday morning.

The Jets dealt WR Chansi Stuckey, LB Jason Trusnik and undisclosed draft choices to the Browns in the deal...

A bar fight with Quinn can be arranged (cue AC/DC dirty deeds) ,

the question is he worth anything in a trade right now? I say keep him, we still need a back up and I haven't written him off yet. I think the pressure of the QB competition was really messing with his pretty little head...

THANKS LEBRON!

THANKS LEBRON!

Is that sarcastic or not. or both? I can't tell.

Besides Lebron would have traded him to Jacksonville or some other pit. He wouldn't want to run the chance of BE crossing pathes with crew when he goes to the Knicks or the Nets and punching someone else (this Sarcasm)

BTW the PD's Bud Shaw deserves a captain obvious cape for his write up on this situation....

He should have been traded before the draft when his value was higher.  he was never going to fit with Mangini...and Mangini should have seen that.

Straw that broke camel's back.  Apparently most of the "unamed player" off the field incidents about the Browns were primarily Braylon...not paying the mini-bar tab, parking in reserved spaces at team facilities, buying $2,500 worth of booze from the liquer store with Dante Stallworth the night before Dante ran that guy over, and asking a DB on another team DURING A GAME what the best way to get into modeling/acting was...

Let's clarify the wasn't the $2500 worth of booze at the club?

Could be...I forget exactly what I read at the time.

^OK, I heard that as well, Chris Mortinsen is the source.  He mentioned parking in the secretary's reserved space among other things.

Well... I wish BE the best (because then our 3rd round pick becomes a 2nd round pick!!)

The LB we got, Jason Trusnik, played for Nordonia.  I know his family reasonably well.

He played at Ohio Northern (Division III) and hooked on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent.  He's basically worked his butt off to become a very good special teams player (AFC ST player of the week a couple weeks ago) and a serviceable backup LB.

In a lot of ways, he's the anti-Braylon.

The national media seems to like the trade too. John Gruden was on Mike and Mike this morning and had nothing but good things about the players we picked up and the draft picks that the Browns got for BE, and the Jets, well the Jets got BE who if he can focus and play well, will give the Jets a reciever who can get seperation from the DBs and force the opposing defense to pull some guys out of the box, which should open up the running game. As Greenie pointed out though that wasn't happening in Cleveland so far.

Breaking news out of NYC:  Braylon has been selected to drop the ball in Times Square to bring in the new year.

Good one

Congrats, Hts.  You are now my Facebook status!!!  :-D

Thanks DocBroc, but I can't take the credit.  There was some variation of this joke in the PD yesterday.

Wow! The kick did look like it was no good. How can they blow a call like that!?

That's it... The NFL needs some competition. Break up the monopoly. I hate when games are decided like that. Sure, The Browns blew lots of opps. anyway in this game, but when it comes down to it...that is the deciding point..and it appears the call was blown.

Oh, and as for B.E.'s athleticism, etc... I was holding on to some hope that he would break out of this bad habit...But, his talent does not mean squat if he cannot catch the ball consistently. Part of having talent as a receiver is the ability to catch the ball. I will take possession receivers any day who catch the ball and execute over this crapola. He makes the spectacular grab, but cannot hold onto the 3'rd and 7 type catch. He is the Julio Franco of football. Hey Braylon....Take some lessons from Ozzie Newsome, Steve Largeant, Ed McCaffery or Paul Warfield, then adjust your attitude.

::) And do what go back to the AFL and NFL.  In that case there would be two identical leagues run with the same rules, only now they would be competing for market share and cannibalizing one another on various levels.

^^Uh, look at that kick from any other angle, and it's clear that the kick was in fact good. Until reading this thread I haven't even heard anyone complaining about that call or questioning that field goal.

he doesn't need braylon, that rookie fell back to earth last week all by himself - 3 picks!

New York Jets (3-1-0)

Passing   CP/AT YDS TD INT

M. Sanchez    14/27 138  0  3

hopefully we got the better end of this braylon deal, we'll see.
