^^Uh, look at that kick from any other angle, and it's clear that the kick was in fact good. Until reading this thread I haven't even heard anyone complaining about that call or questioning that field goal.

Uh, the Browns DC complained to the media and the League did review the kick.... it was, uh, one of those, uh, no conclusive evidence to overturn the call rulings.

I really didn't want the league to overturn it anyways and hurt our draft position.  There is very little pride either team could have taken with a tie with the other... two of the worst franchises in the league are sadly in the great football state of Ohio.

I agree. I didn't hear anything about it until I saw the complaints on here. From that camera angle it's nearly impossible to tell whether or not it was good. The refs who made the call had the best view.

Finally!  a "W"!

It was not pretty, no well executed, but a win is a win.

Now lets build upon this win.  One win down, five to go.

is it possible for the league to award both teams losses?

Let me call my boy at the NFL and inquire!  My grandmother could have thrown more yards than Anderson.

The competition for the top draft picks seems quite heated this year.  There are 8 teams in the league that are 1-4 or worse.

Jamal Lewis looked good today, I hope he can keep that up.  I can't say that I blame DA though, not with so many tributes to the departed out there today.

No, a win is not a win this early in the season.  There is nothing to build upon after that abomination.

When I told my mom the final score was 6-3, her response was, "Is that a football score or a baseball score?"

I'll take it. If we complete 4 passes against Pittsburgh it will be a 100% improvement...

'bout time we got a break

Defense has not looked all that bad the last couple of weeks....  Actually, it has looked pretty good. This is true especially when you consider the fact that the D is ALWAYS on the field because the offense can't sustain drives and usually goes three and out.  I think we have 3 offensive touchdowns over our last 200 or so possessions.  That is just sickening.

At least it wasn't a 3-0 game!

and thank gawd we're one of them -- i was getting worried it would be an o-fer season!

you said it! totally agree on the d being a somewhat surprising bright spot.

Sanchez to Edwards.  TOUCHDOWN!!

Did this set some kind of league record?

A second great catch by Edwards, OOB at the 1.

Yeah, Edwards looked good today.  Good for him, I hope he can turn it around.  He still hasn't experienced a win this season.

Wait until Sanchez throws one at his hands...

He paid $700k for it in 2007, so he'd better be prepared for price reductions.

Property taxes are over $10k per year too...

Ack! Who decorated that place?!?

Not what I would expect from a 24 YO guy. He must of bought it furnished. I hope he didn't pay somebody to make it look like that.

Damn you Buckeye1, you got me snooping around the auditors sites again. Apparently Joe Thomas bought his house from K2.

He's a baller!  That house should not look like that.  It's supposed to be decked out!

Hell if he was going to "decorate" the house in a scheme that looks like his grandmother and Aunt Gertie live there and not him, he could have bought a condo in the city and been done with it!

Just tacky!  Tacky nouveau riche!

I need to start my own design business to help folks like this.

WHAT!

Interview on Cleveland.com.  He denies wanting to leave Cleveland and that he put his house on the market for that reason.

*He did say "he is a batchelor, what does he want to live way out there for".

Well I am off to 3 and a half hours of training...ZZZZZZ. I expect some witty banter when I get back..

So I open the latest issue of Rolling Stone late last night and find an article in there on how Mangini has made the Browns the laughing stock of the NFL.

WTF, Sports Illustrated I understand but f$%^&*G ROLLING STONE?

I can't find a link to the article but I will post it when I do. (Note: I haven't actually read it yet because I threw the magazine down in disgust)

Haha the article said Eric Mangini is the long lost Augustus Gloop from Willy Wonka and the Choc Factory.

I must admit the likeness is uncanny. Anyone care to photoshop Mangini with chocolate smeared around his mouth.

I'll admit I am still undecided on Mangini, but I understand what he is trying to do (if he can is another story). However, I feel since NYC is the center of the journalism universe we are getting hung out by every jaded Jets fan with a laptop and an article due. It is not like Mangini has turned the Pats into the Browns. The Browns were a crappy team before  who got lucky in 2007. I guess I am just p!ssed at the tone of the negative press. Laughing stock, worst hiring ever, yada yada. Helloooo? Anybody been watching the Raiders this year (or the last 5 years) or Detroit. Yes we suck, but just leave it at that.

I agree, how can anyone judge him fairly at the moment?  I am not surprised that they stink, why should anyone be?  I do like some of the tough love moves that he has made, particularly Edwards getting fined by the team.  The quarterback competition did not look good.

The silver lining in all of this, they have gotten much much better at not commiting stupid penalties.

I really hope all this Josh Cribbs trade talk is nothing more than rumors!  He is just so great to watch and he provides much needed fire and passion.

You need to give him at least a full year.  He needed to cut off the fat on the team.  He needs at least another summer of freeagency and another draft class to call the team his.

Congratulations Der-WRECK BLAND-erson and company for losing again to Pitt. While I did not expect them to win, it is really pathetic how The Steelers---an average team with a bit above average talent--in my opinion, are made to look so good, EVEN when they look bad!

Again, 0 offense results in defense eventually caving. UGH!  Execute..execute...execute.. Get the basics and fundamentals down, like catching swing passes for example.

By the way....Thanks Josh... you are more talented than the entire Pittsburgh team, but you cannot do it all alone! And not that it would have made much difference, but how can you blow the call on the measurement like that??!! Little things like that change the tide....ebb and flow and chemistry of the game.

Now what is really embarrassing is to see idiots in Cleveland wearing Steelers attire. Its one thing to not want to deal with this team (Browns) until they are ready to show something... But in the meanwhile to jump on a Pitt. bandwagon, which many do, is absurd and pathetic.

Just make note of the ones dawning steelers jerseys now.  Call them out when/if the tables swing back!  Forget all of the front runners.

I can't say I expected a win, so I am not that frustrated.  This game could have been much worse... and all of those fumbles were embarrassing for both teams.  I still cannot believe that first down measurement!  The worst part is that they never ever explained just what happened?  They asked the question and then moved on!

Oh yeah... why do they keep where those stupid all brown pants??  I want to see white with the stripes make a return!

I still cannot believe that first down measurement! The worst part is that they never ever explained just what happened? They asked the question and then moved on!

I think the camera angle may have been deceiving.  If you look at the replay the camera is not pointing straight down the line, it looks like it is about 20 yards or so upfield shooting back at the measurement.  The inch or two between the tip of the ball and the stick could cause the illusion of them being short.  In reality I think the tip of the ball was just barely on the stick.  I was jumping up and down screaming in my house during the call, but after watching a couple replays I noticed that the yard markers were angled on the shot.  All of you photographers can probably explain this better then I.

^ I understand what you're saying...and Yes, an angle that is a bit to the back of the ball looking forward would create an illusion.... I thought the same thing... But, it even looked far enough to be difficult for such an illusion to be present. I still think that was a blown call. Oh...and Hines Ward...wipe that stupid grin off your face!

I thought the brown pants were awkward too.  The Browns classic uniforms were awesome.  Bring them back!

I wouldn't mind seeing the Kardiac Kids unis make a comeback:

I actually like the brown pants.

i don't really care about the uniforms.  i just want a team that doesn't stink. (just so long as they never ever ever wear the brown pants with the solid brown socks again like that preseason game in 2008, we looked like chocolate popsicles).

This... is a sharp uniform.  Football is the sport of autumn... and no uniform is more autumnal.  Just beautiful.

OH, I know!  Everytime I see that stupid super doughnuts box at the grocery store I want to spit!

It's all about the white pants!  I have spoken!

I actually like the brown pants.

Agreed.  The all-white uniform just doesn't look right with the orange helmet.  It should be a brown jersey with white pants and a white jersey with brown pants.  (I also like the orange pants!)

Yes, at this point, I don't care what they wear because it cannot cover up the odors of the performances. But I must say....I like the old KK unis too.... Dave Logan...Reggie...where are you!

Man, Braylon still hasn't been involved in a win this year.  I'm glad that ESPN has the Tennessee Titans as their punching bag this week.
