October 20, 200915 yr What I find a bit scary is that every week I see coaches and/or players stating that they had great practices and that things they did worked, setting up expectations that they would do well on Sunday. Then we watch the games and.....yeow! Where is the disconnect from reality?
October 20, 200915 yr Two quick notes about Mark Sanchez and Braylon Edwards. Did anyone else find it unfair to rip the rookie even though two of his interceptions were tipped after hitting Edwards in the hands? That is what Jets fans can expect with Edwards, because even with his great talent, he comes with questionable hands. Also take a look at the highlights from yesterday’s game, I believe Edwards was the target on all five interceptions. I have to wonder if Ryan, offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer and Sanchez aren’t trying to keep the star receiver happy by targeting him, even if it means forcing the ball into coverage. http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/...1WiJZW4rvHXiffM
October 20, 200915 yr I do think that they are being overly harsh with Sanchez. I guess that is New York for you. Of course, I think Brady Quinn got a raw deal too. I can't say I was happy with his performance but I still think he deserved more time out there.
October 20, 200915 yr Cribbs KILLS the Steelers! But the Browns win those battles and lose the war... :-( Now I know how Steelers fans must have felt in the 60's.
October 21, 200915 yr Well, today was a surprise. Trade deadline is past and DA and BQ are both still here.
October 21, 200915 yr I wasn't surprised that they kept both DA and BQ. As sad as they are, they are our starter and back-up in what ever combination it happens to be in a particular week. If bad DA keeps showing up like this we'll probably see brady again after the Monday night game against the Ravens. I can't imagine sticking him back in after the bye only to face the Ravens.
October 21, 200915 yr DQ52 out for the year with a shoulder injury. Paging Mr. Maiava.... Mr. Maiava to the front desk please....
October 22, 200915 yr Believeland? Does anybody remember those shirts? That is $25.00 dollars of money that I will never get back...(sigh) And yet my wife and I are still trying to Brainwash our kids into being Browns fans, I guess nothing builds character like a life time of being let down. My 5 year old is rebelling, he claims his favorite team is the Bengals because they have tiger striped helmets. I guess there are worse reasons to pick a team.

October 22, 200915 yr I once told my mom as a child (8ish) that I was going to be a steelers fan. I said this because I was really mad about something and I figured this would be the easiest way to get to her. She said completely straight faced, that it was fine if I wanted to be a steelers fan, but that I should go grab my things and move out to the shed. She wasn't joking.

SE Ohio is still Steelers Country, maybe some Bengals. I appluad Mr. Broccoli that took some guts!

Do the Browns have a Monday nighter this year? OMG... More embarrassment looms on the horizon! And Kudos to the brave guy who wore the Browns attire in PITT... We need more of that... The stench of theirs invades Browns stadium.
October 23, 200915 yr I laughed, I cried, I barked... The hard-luck life of a Browns fanComment Email Print Share By Geoff LaTulippe Special to Page 2 Archive In reality, it all began Jan. 17, 1988. Yeah, OK, the hooks were in place way before that -- I was born in Berea, a Cleveland suburb, and even though I lived there for only a year, I'm too loyal for my own good. The Browns were my team by birthright, not unlike jaundice or fetal alcohol syndrome. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=latulippe/091022&sportCat=nfl
October 25, 200915 yr i like that believe in the browns hoodie. yes cute. i still have my browns v-neck throwback sweater with the brownie logo that i got from tj maxx -- i wear it out once in awhile to watch browns games. as far as the uniforms my only peeve is the post-modell brightened up manga cartoonish neon orange. i hate that. i wish they would go back to the more muted classic orange like you can see on evergrey's brian sipe pic above.
October 25, 200915 yr I mentioned this helmet color last year, it seems they have gone back to the old. http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/topic,6443.msg327373/topicseen.html#msg327373
October 25, 200915 yr yeah definately more muted now, but i dont think quite back to where they once were and should be. kind of a compromise between the two extremes? here's a shot from practice leading up to today's loss: http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2009/08/cleveland_browns_do_not_public.html
October 26, 200915 yr Ugh... talk about a beat down. Then I was subjected to the last bit of the Steelers game. I can't believe they have so much trouble inside the 5 yard line!
November 1, 200915 yr the league's worst defense and second worst offense? if only mediocre mangini could even rise up to mediocre level...ugh. Cleveland 6, Chicago 30 http://espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=291101003
November 2, 200915 yr We (fans) deserve better than this...and even with being the biggest homer in the world, I see no possible reasons for optimism. Prepare for the first locally blacked-out games since the early 90s
November 2, 200915 yr After last weekend with the Bears, I just knew that this was going to be your guys' second win.
November 3, 200915 yr Kokinis gone...that'll right this ship  rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic
November 3, 200915 yr ^I am sure the guy walked away with a bunch of change but this is a bush league move.
November 3, 200915 yr The Browns need to trade Rogers. The browns won't be relevant in any respect until after Sean's time and we need to stockpile more draft picks.
November 3, 200915 yr Everyone is pissing and moaning about Kokinis being a scapegoat and such but from the interviews with Randy this is exactly what you'd expect he'd do. He wants someone at the top that he can "set it, and forget it". Someone besides the Head Coach to be the face of the business, which Kokinis perhaps didn't want to be (see Lerner urging him to do a SI interview). You at least want someone to interact with your players for the rest of the year, and you're paying him already. Let your new management structure deal with Mangini & Co. (keep on, fire, whatever). I hope that's kinda what's happening anyway.
November 3, 200915 yr WTF is going on in Berea? NOTHING! Our record is 1-6, do you really need to ask that question? ;)
November 3, 200915 yr you mean "NOTHING GOOD"..(sigh) lots going on, none of it makes any sense. I stand corrected!
November 4, 200915 yr Acorsi as Browns GM? Today the rumor on ESPN's Pardon the Interruption was Acorsi was being sought as a consultant for the Browns and the GM job might go to a friend of Acorsi's, some guy named Bernie Kosar. :-D
November 4, 200915 yr The way that Acorsi is denying any involvement sounds like that might be happening.
November 6, 200915 yr whats this about the fans staying outside the stadium for the first quarter in protest? think that'll happen?
November 6, 200915 yr ^Who knows. Some of them will do it, but if they are organized at every entrance they could get most of the fans to participate... or at least move to the concourse for introductions and opening kickoff to give the appearance of a near empty stadium. I don't necessarily support the protest though. Ownership and management already know the fans are displeased. This would just be another black eye for the city and team. Self inflicted nonetheless.
November 6, 200915 yr Ahh, at least I don't have to worry about the Browns losing this weekend...Love the bye week, it's like a mini-vacation from the misery of being a Browns fan.
November 17, 200915 yr If the Browns ever improve, then where will I get my laughs?!?! Seriously, that interception return for a touchdown by the Ravens right after the offensive touchdown by the Ravens here in the third quarter was pretty funny! Now I know what I've been missing from not watching the Browns. I think I should start watching again. Futility is funny!! EDIT: Another interception! Hee hee!! "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
November 17, 200915 yr Thanks to the Browns I got home to Lorain already and will get a full night's sleep. I may be done for the season with four home games to go. PM me if you want a free ticket to the last game (1/3 vs JAC)... gonna be in Vegas for that one.
November 17, 200915 yr So much for the kick-off boycott. I did not see a good shot of the dog pound to see if it was empty. It was only briefly mentioned by the commentators... they were too busy talking about Belichik ALL DAY!! What do you make of Jon Gruden saying how much he likes Brady Quinn?
November 17, 200915 yr So much for the kick-off boycott. I did not see a good shot of the dog pound to see if it was empty. It was only briefly mentioned by the commentators... they were too busy talking about Belichik ALL DAY!! What do you make of Jon Gruden saying how much he likes Brady Quinn? Seeing bits and pieces of the third quarter before going to bed last night and highlights of the game this morning, I'd say the nearly half empty stadium in the third quarter and nearly empty stadium in the fourth quarter is more of a statement than any "walk in" b.s. boycott that the dawg pound members tried to coordinate. I'm seriously hoping that the remaining home games are blacked out on local t.v.
November 17, 200915 yr Looking for any highlights from last night I will take our defense's performance (except the TD scored with 10 men on the field, call a time out for godssake ). The LB from USC had a good game, he can really read the plays and get to the correct spot to make the play. Nothing new on offense. Quinn still looks scared, I think he has no confidence in his arm or receivers (deceivers???) . No running game or deep passes. Cribbs gets hurt. O-line is getting worse. Can Tucker come off the IR now? Anything has got to better than St. Clair. He drops back 5 yds before making contact in pass protection. Is Steinbach hurt or has he given up, he was getting tossed around last night too. PS: The Ravens don't look very good. PPS: Brandon McDonald did get another Sports Center worthy clip when he miffed that tackle.
November 17, 200915 yr I dont think too many people took the "brownout" seriously. I was in my seat and many others were too. Those types of things are fun and all until we lose the team again. It wont do anything. Lerner knows the team is awful. The dawg pound was cheering "@sshole" to the guy with the bone on his head who pioneered the whole thing. Apparently the rest of the pound doesnt see eye to eye.
November 17, 200915 yr I was joking around with my friend they are going to have to resort to dollar beers to fill the seats for the last home games.....
