That looks like an upset little puppy that it got dumped with even more obnoxious colored red-orange paint.

Scrappy Doo?

More like Scrappy DON'T. Hey oh!!

p.s. If I had to guess the name of the new font they're using it would be "Kindergarten."

Here it is! More vibrant orange and brown facemask. Also meaner looking dawg on the Dawg Pound logo....

Seriously, if they wanted to make the 2014 Logo look great, well, mission accomplished.

I like it, I just think they overhyped it. Also, the current state of the national media is that anything the Browns do will be ridiculed, so that explains the national reaction.

Well, that is certainly worthy of 'meh'.

BTW, as I'm color blind, both helmets look exactly the same shade.

"Our updated helmet logo is reflective of today's modern Cleveland - the design honors the past while evolving into the future. The iconic brown and white stripes stand tall over the orange helmet - a new orange color that matches the passion of the Dawg Pound. The new brown facemask represents the strength and toughness of Cleveland." - Cleveland Browns.com

So are they saying modern Cleveland is dull and boring?

Oh my god, what patronizing rubbish. The logo is virtually identical, and all this crap about it representing Cleveland is just laughable. This organization is truly something else; the way they're explaining it, you'd think it's a Botticelli.

The new brown facemask represents the strength and toughness of Cleveland.

How does a brown facemask do any of that?

I hate when organic things become corporate.  The team officials should have no relationship with the dawg pound.  If the fans want it, it'll exist by itself.

The exception is that when something organic becomes marketable and profitable, then it becomes corporate.

Seriously the more I stew on this, the more I hope this is a well planned out smokescreen for when the new uni's come out.

Well I hate to pile on but what choice do I have. That press release is hi-larious, 'Modern Cleveland' sounds like it was written in 1965. I mean where's my flying car...This team continues to market itself to the 70 and older crowd. (Sigh)The speculation was fun while it lasted, although deep down I knew nothing would change. Look for the same level of improvement to the uniforms and the roster for that matter. Go Cavs!

Be prepared for a more drastic change on the uniforms. I just heard an interview with Browns prez Alec Scheiner. Putting a logo on the helmet would've been too controversial...but he gave every indication that the rest of the uniforms were fair game for a complete overhaul.

Personally, I think if you want an idea of what they'll look like, just google search Okalahoma State and Oregon State.

And what's up with leaving out the Redskins, but including the Vikings?

They were obviously trying to offend you over-sensitive types.....

Again.... the no logo on the helmet rule was made part of the contract to purchase the team, which is still not yet complete (i.e. fully paid)

What you should be prepared for, since nobody has mentioned it yet, is a more drastic change on the uniforms ;)

The updated Dawg Pound  graphic feels juvenile.  To me less is more. Take away the ears and the mouth and add the helmet stripe above the eyes and you get a different feel.  Just my thought.

Seriously the more I stew on this, the more I hope this is a well planned out smokescreen for when the new uni's come out.

My exact thoughts, i feel as though this was too hyped to just be a different shade of Orange. I'm probably looking to much into it though.

I wish the Browns could limit my disappointment to football season.

The 'hype' was more the fault of the media and the fans.  Perhaps the Browns should've diffused it, but at no time did they indicate that we should be waiting for something dramatic with the logo.  In fact, all indications were that the change would be subtle.

Then don't announce the date it would be released. Just release it. It's not like the date was leaked, the Browns put out the date.

Productive guy, though a little inconsistent. (I had him on my team.)

Though for a WR inconsitency can reflect the quarterback.

McCown. And you all thought the logo 'redesign' was underwhelming....

McCown should fit right in:

Tossing away Hoyer for a 1-10 quarterback is not overwhelming?

The Browns will part ways with the only QB since 99 to have a winning record for a guy in the twilight of his career that went 1-10 last year.  Safe to say they'll be playing like Browns again next year.

I'm not so convinced that it's not Hoyer parting way with the Browns. Why would he resign here at this point? He'll do decently elsewhere, without the circus.

Don't worry, the Browns will issue a new and improved McCown in 2015...

This is just a rendering based on the logo "redesign"....

Yep after realizing what the Browns consider to be a major change in the logo is so underwhelming, my hope for any dramatic changes to the uni has all but gone out the window. Prediction, the number of ppl lined up for new gear after the uniform unveiling... that would be 'none' . Oh what could have been.

If they change it dramatically, traditional minded fans will stock up on existing gear, after that "throwbacks" will sell better.

Is the NFL deal still with Nike?  That was a vast improvement over the Reebok designs.

Browns agree to terms with WR Brian Hartline. A good #2 receiver who now is our #1 receiver. Hopefully the Browns draft a #1.

Good signing with Hartline, still need to add another WR over 6' that can catch.  Hope they don't try to win another draft day championship and burn a 1st round pick on a glamour position like WR.  If the Patriots and Seahwawks don't need a #1 WR, neither do the Browns.

Dead last against the run, lack of a pass rush, and a poor right side of the OL are the real problems why this team stinks.  In addition to QB play of course, which is also in part a product of the overall team.

There were weeks at a time w Jets where Revis didn't allow a catch in Pettine's system. Revis raves about Pett in book Collison Low Crossers

Something to keep in mind: a $20 million cap number is meaningless outside the context of what % of the cap it is.

DawgPoundNation.com ‏@DawgPoundNation  3m3 minutes ago

.@BrownsBeat Yep. I forget who, but someone got a double digit deal and is only a $6 million dollar cap hit.

Browns Beat ‏@BrownsBeat  1m1 minute ago

@DawgPoundNation if Revis is a 20mm hit his first 2 years, and say 14mm the next 2, with an ever growing cap, that likely becomes a steal

Browns following philosophy of we aren't scoring, you won't either

^ That philosophy won a few teams Super Bowls, although Goodell wouldn't like it. Just get Yahoo/NFL.com/etc  to expand the defense points in fantasy football.

Reports coming out that JAX is sniffing around Tashaun Gipson. If they were to steal him, Browns would get the 36th pick in the draft.

Correct -- and the same team. Browns will have to decide what's more valuable -- Jacksonville's high 2nd-round pick or Tashaun Gipson at whatever deal Jax has offered.

Lane and Terry Pluto are the two Browns reporters I trust the most, and it's a long way to third.

Thanks for the memories, Buster.

No big deal, Gilbert will take that spot.

I think Desir will be better than both of them.

QB Thaddeus Lewis is back with the Browns -- woo hoo! Whatever.
