Looks like Flash is going to New England.

Only place he can succeed, imo.

But it's not over yet. The Bears received a trade inquiry less than two hours ago.

Pats cut Corey Coleman to make room for  him

If he isn't active for 10 games, the Patriots get a late-round pick back.

Jurevicius didn’t want to talk about specifics of the crime but he told the I-Team, “I support the police department. I support the FBI. I support the American flag. I support the bald eagle. I bleed red white and blue. I sometimes sing 'America the Beautiful' in my sleep.”

And who replaces Hue Jackson?

There's nobody on this staff qualified to be HC.

He's going for 2 wins in 35 tries. Who? Anybody, literally.

Beat the Jets. The Browns are at home after two competitive games against SB contenders. The Jets just got manhandled by the so-so Dolphins and even with the almighty Sam Darnold they are not expected to make the playoffs. Vegas even thinks Hue can do it. No more excuses, win.

What's the point of keeping a coach than can't coach winning? Continuity of losing? Because it's hard to bring in another one?

This organization has set the lowest bar for HC employment since at least the AFL-NFL merger. I'm really confused as to why some fans still want him around.

I just have a feeling Hue will find a Hue way to blow this game. Really hope I'm wrong.

Okay I'm curious who you would hire if you were GM?

Jackson confirmed to reporters that Gonzalez had suffered a groin injury, but said that he wasn’t aware of it until after the game.

“That was not reported to me that Zane was hurt,” Jackson said. “I did not know and nobody had ever reported to me from our medical department that Zane was hurt.”

If the Browns lose to the Jets and Raiders they're 0-3-1 and never going 9-4 to make the playoffs. Let Haley run the show. Not sure how the NFL would feel about Williams being an HC again. See what shakes out from this season and see who's available in the off-season or keep Haley on.

A sad fact: If Haley can get 2 wins in 13 games as a HC/OC this season it would be more than Hue had in 2 seasons. I'm positive he could do it too.

I'm curious how many losses does Hue get if you were GM?

What's the lowest winning pct. since the merger with 50+ games coached? He has to be close to the record now with 9-40-1.

All this said: Hue please beat the Jets. Prove the doubters wrong.

Todd Haley is going to need to focus 100 percent on the offense. I don't know how he's proven he can take on more responsibility.

I'd probably give Hue Jackson the entire season. Now if there are disastrous coaching blunders then yes, you probably have to hit a hard reset on the head coaching position. I just don't understand how if the team keeps losing the answer is to promote someone who is complicit, ie the coordinators.

Also, while Hue's certainly not the best coach in the league we can thank Jimmy Haslam for that horrendous record. If you heard Joe Thomas today he admitted the GM created a roster that would purposely tank. No coach is going to miraculously win games with the "talent" this franchise has employed.

Todd Haley turned the playcalling over to RB coach/associate head coach Freddie Kitchens in one of the preseason games. He did the same thing in Pittsburgh with his then-QB coach Randy Fichtner who replaced Haley as OC when Haley came to Cleveland.

If (when) Hue Jackson is fired, look for Haley to become head coach and Kitchens to become OC.

picked to win tonight...that can only be another curse.

Some key injuries on the Browns. Who knows how well Darnold will play tonight. I actually think McCown gives the Jets a better chance to win.

More importantly, I think the uniforms are going to look great.

Going to my first game since redskins in 2012.  Looking forward to the energy, nice night and new look squad under the lights.  I hope there is some creativity on offense tonight. Have to do something different, because it’s been brutal

if you get a chance, take some pics and post later.

^sure thing!

Could of should of won last 2 games. Lets hope they win tonight if not I may start looking at Hue Jackson to blame even though I believe they need a head coach to stay longer than few years rather than starting over with a new one like they always did in past.

Browns recipe for success is: WR Damion Ratley.

FEED THE RAT!!!!!!!

What did they get for Josh Gordon?

Browns gave up Gordon and their 7th round pick. Patriots gave up their 5th round pick.

hue is going to loose his job tonight over this debacle. err, so far.

Baker Mayfield....

wow are you joking?

Baker Mayfield is the starter.

future hall of famer

Nope.

Stupid move but OK we cut the cancer. Let's start winning.

edit we should have some money under salary cap but I always get confused with that.

now we are going to have this baker decision.

he made such a positive impact it seems its time.

Yeah I wish we could avoid these constant QB controversies. They end up ripping the team apart every time.

Great game, and great feeling for the city.  I was at the Jolly Scholar at Case yesterday during the game, and we all got free drinks after the win.  Go Browns!

Lost in all of this is how freaking good Denzel Ward is playing.  Can't believe we may have hit on both 1st rounders..

Yeah I wish we could avoid these constant QB controversies. They end up ripping the team apart every time.

QB controversies typically exist only among the fans. Teams usually get behind whoever is starting.

Tyrod just is very good. Funny how a rookie with no first-team reps in practice could move that offense whereas an 8-year veteran couldn't do a thing.

But Hue Jackson needs to watch the tape before he can decide who will start the next game in 10 days? I see, said the blind man.

I think we need to see Mayfield a few more times before we can fully assess.  With that said, he looked great.  Now, let's sign Dez Bryant.

So, who on this thread got free beer out of the beer fridge last night?

That's just what coaches say.  Mayfield will start.

3 to be exact. Paying for it this morning.

I literally sprinted from the game up to Barley House. Four of my friends had already taken about a dozen for the group. Absolute gluttons

On another website, I posted a scenario for Mayfield that could be a repeat of Kosar's rookie season -- Kosar didn't play until week 5 of the 1985 season against the would-be AFC Champions New England Patriots. Veteran Gary Danielson hurt his shoulder making a tackle on CB Raymond Claiborne who had just intercepted him. Kosar came in trailing, and led the Browns back to win the game.

Hopefully that's where the similarities end. Why?

Because Kosar had an up-and-down rookie season, including some bad games against the Super Bowl contending Washington Redskins and mediocre Steelers and Bengals. When Danielson's shoulder healed, Schottenheimer started him and the Browns won three in a row, including a tough road game against the contending NY Giants -- until Danielson got hurt again. Kosar had a rough end of the season, with the Browns backing into their first Central Division crown in five years, but with just an 8-8 record. In their playoff game, Kosar played a strong game and were leading the prior year's AFC Champions Miami Dolphins 21-3 before Dan Marino brought his team back to win.

I remember it like it was yesterday. To me, the 1980s are still very fresh in my mind. Anyway, I thought some of you youngin's would find some interesting parallels with Cleveland's last franchise QB and how he began his NFL playing career.

Same old Browns. I'll be back when they replace their kicker, ST coach, and quarterback. But I won't be all the way back until they also replace Mr. 1-32-1.

What exactly was "get rid of him" wrong with Taylor today?  Some inconsistency and one pick, otherwise a good game.

The offense was inept, Taylor's decision making was awful, he missed wide open receivers, he threw an INT at crunch time (his one claim to fame is that he usually doesn't turn the ball over), he didn't step up in the pocket, he actually ran into a sack when the left side was wide open for a QB run or pass, etc.

I'm really not surprised though. Everyone knows that Taylor is at best an average quarterback. This is the guy who was actually benched for Nathan Peterman for crying out loud. It's only a matter of time before he is benched for the Heisman winner and #1 overall pick.

How many times did Tyrod revert to that little dump off pass 3 years down field right over the line of scrimmage.  It must have been 6 times in the last two drives.  It seems like he was always looking for the relief valve.  Count me in on the "let's try Baker" bandwagon.

Browns fans are the worst.  This is why we keep ruining rookie QBs (or playing guys like Manziel when we're 7-4.). We were expected to lose the first two games even if we're much better this year, and we tied the Steelers and would have beaten the Saints if we had a kicker and you're calling for the QB's head already?  Come on.

Uhhh...... ;D ;D ;D 8)

I can think of 1.7 million reasons to start Baker now.  :)

The Browns OL is still very, very bad. If Baker is the regular started, Tyrod will likely still get chances before the season is over.

With an improved D the Browns need to address the OL in the draft. Please!!

I'm not sold on the line being so bad. I mean, our RB's ran for 140 yards.

I'm not sold on the line being so bad. I mean, our RB's ran for 140 yards.

Our line is middle of the road. Not bad.

Tyrod missed some man coverage blitz schemes yesterday, which really messed his timing up on a couple occasions. He did okay with the zone schemes from the field side, and those really looked like the confused Harrison in the first half - but he actually played well in the second.

Here is why we don't do well. Our offensive line is not overpowering - they are good, but man on man they aren't moving anyone five yards off the ball. That's why you'll see us have better success out of zone-read schemes and inside to mid-zone runs. They're great at space and getting to the next level, especially on combo blocks in the A and B gap, but when we get in any sort of BOHICA formation, we struggle because a) its a run tendency, and b) 1 v 1 strength matchup usually prevail.

^Oh, and Jamie Collins and Joe Schobert are really really good.

I'm not sold on the line being so bad. I mean, our RB's ran for 140 yards.

Eh...the Ward pick had the Browns on the Jets 7 and they couldn't punch it in even with Baker Touchdownmaker. They also couldn't secure a first down when they needed it at the end of the game and gave the Jets offense one more chance.

The OL still has problems maybe very bad is an overstatement but I don't think it's middle of the road yet.

Fans of OTHER TEAMS are ordering the Mayfield color rush jersey.

Baker played great; balled out, in fact.

But let’s not derive any significance from that. Johnny Manziel led the NFL in Jersey sales. Now he’s a middle of the road CFL QB

We received clearance from the league to wear them twice more - I know one instance will be against the Ravens.
