December 6, 200618 yr Getting thread back on track. Steelers - Browns round 2: In Pittsburgh, on Thursday Night. The Brownies get their asses kicked by the Bengals, then turn around and pull of one the best comebacks of the NFL season against the Chiefs. Anyone have any idea which team is going to show up? On paper, the Steelers should win this game, but then again 'on paper' the Browns should have laid another egg last week. Any thoughts?
December 6, 200618 yr Despite my belief that Kosar was one of the smartest players to ever play in the NFL, I have my doubts about this. To my knowledge, he has never had a position on any coaching staff anywhere. At the very least I would think he’d want to see how well he does at being a QB coach for a year before deciding to take the reigns as a head coach. I know he has played a few advisory roles with both the Hurricanes and the Browns over the past several years, but that’s a lot different than coaching.
December 7, 200618 yr ^that and he'll have to stop getting shitfaced Since when did Kosar become a lush? :wtf:
December 7, 200618 yr ^that and he'll have to stop getting shitfaced Since when did Kosar become a lush? :wtf: oh you missed him during the wkyc pre-season games. Guy was hammered every time on the air, it was hilarious.

Guy was hammered every time on the air, it was hilarious. Being 1100 miles south-southwest of Cleveland would cause me to miss local broadcasts of Browns pre-season games. But that is sad to know.
December 9, 200618 yr ^that and he'll have to stop getting shitfaced Since when did Kosar become a lush? :wtf: I've heard whispers at work that he was a "sipper". Sad to hear that...maybe some of the new browns should become lushes, maybe they would have a winning record. :|
December 9, 200618 yr BOW DOWN TO YOUR MASTERS! :whip: What is this... 14 of the last 15 meetings the Steelers have won?
December 10, 200618 yr You know the Browns should take a page out of the Cavaliers book. The browns should ensure a high draft pick so that they can go after Troy Smith, and bring the hometown guy back to Cleveland for a professional career.
December 10, 200618 yr ^Why, so yet another QB can be beaten mercilessly behind a sub par O line? A very good QB behind a shitty line make hime a less than average QB...I would rather have an average QB beind a good O line....we need to fix the line....ask Couch, Holcomb, Garcia, Dilfer, Frye, and Anderson
December 10, 200618 yr One week does not a season make.....KC rarely blitzed if at all...and the Steelers didn't blitz near as much as they usually do, I am assuming due to the fact they had two DB's out that night. I am not sure how many people realize how Troy Polamalu affords a the Steelers a strong blitzing D because of his abilities to cover the field the way he does. The needs for the Browns in my opinion are...1) O line 2) another strong pass rusher(D line or linebacker) 3) D backs 4) a sure handed receiver most other positions are passable for the time being

December 11, 200618 yr But wow, what a picture! Fantastic! Cool shot, one of my fav skylines. But hate the Steelers!!!
December 11, 200618 yr The Browns have compiled @2400 total yds this year, 1050 of which being rushing. The Titans have compiled a hair under 4000 yds, 1800 of which have been rushing. Last game the Browns played, the line did a good job blocking...or did they? We compiled a whopping 18 yds on the ground! Maybe the line looked decent because Anderson MAY..I am saying MAY, be able to read the blitzes better and read the blocks better (stepping up into the pocket instead of running out of it and into the arms of a defender). I am NOT Frye bashing, he is a tough kid with guts and ability. Sometimes, however, there are intangibles that make a QB what he is. Anderson to me, seems to have a much stronger arm, his check downs on the receiver progression seem better, and his ability to get rid of the ball faster seems better. All in all, I think both guys are decent. I would love to see what these guys could do with a solid running game to compliment the passing game. When a QB is in an obvious passing situation, the play action won't fool anyone with the running game we have. These guys are under fire everytime they drop back. As I said earlier, let's get a strong line and build from there. Vince Young or LT would be nice to have in a Browns uniform, but if they won't get the proper blocks...what could even they do here?
January 8, 200718 yr Dear Cleveland Browns fan. During the two weeks I was in Central Ohio, I heard the rumors/whispers about Cleveland offering their job to Jim Tressel if OSU won the National Championship (tonight). :shoot: DON'T DO IT! Jim Tressel is not Paul Brown nor Jimmy Johnson, it's not going to work. Jim Tressel is "programmed" to be a college coach, not a pro coach. Wait one more year on Crommel, then if it doesn't work, go after his old running buddy Charlie Weiss. Jim Tressel in Brown & Orange is not a marriage made in Ohio, it would be colossal set-back for Cleveland, Columbus, and Jim's coaching career. Thank you.
January 8, 200718 yr ^ agreed re tressel. the problem isnt crennel anyway, it's the general talent level. just keep building and maybe if anything hold romeo to .500 next year.

January 9, 200718 yr emotional problems, staph infections, I think one of the Browns actually got pregnant...it all happened to us this year!
January 9, 200718 yr emotional problems, staph infections, I think one of the Browns actually got pregnant...it all happened to us this year! if anyone really cares, the Lions won the competition for most players on the IR, the browns however won the competition for most excuses.
January 9, 200718 yr So we get the third pick, right? Any guesses? did they have the fabled coin-flip yet?

January 31, 200718 yr Er...you want to get rid of Kellen Winslow? I trust that's a joke that I just missed...
February 21, 200718 yr Can you believe this crap?! Bentley will miss another season Third knee surgery puts Browns center's career in doubt
February 21, 200718 yr Can you believe this crap?! Yes...the way the Brownies have been holding up from a "physical and health" stand point. They seem to always be catching a break. (pun intended)
February 23, 200718 yr Now, word is that Kellen Winslow will be on crutches for 6 to 8 weeks. For four months, he cannot exert himself athletically. Bummer...loving this team is bittersweet. Winslow recovery will take months Type of knee surgery isn't always successful By Patrick McManamon Beacon Journal sportswriter INDIANAPOLIS - Kellen Winslow's comeback from offseason knee surgery will be quite a bit more involved than first impressions indicated.
February 23, 200718 yr Coin flip for the 3-4 draft pick is tomorrow morning around 7:45am. Map Boy, is the Browns flag still up in our old cube? ;)

February 23, 200718 yr when has it become acceptable for a news reporter (at the akron beacon-journal) to quote statistics from wikipedia? Get off of your lazy ass, call the clinic and ask a doctor.
February 23, 200718 yr The Browns are so awesome. It all starts with a simple coin flip. Next year=Super Bowl! The Browns won the coin toss and will pick third in the NFL Draft. The coin toss was held this morning at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. Tampa Bay will pick fourth.
February 23, 200718 yr The Browns are so awesome. It all starts with a simple coin flip. Next year=Super Bowl! Hahaha! How easily we forget all of the Sunday nights and Mondays we were po'ed because our team stunk! Super Bowl? Let's try to make the playoffs first! Any speculation about who we may be taking with the third pick? Almost everyone in the media is saying Peterson.

Any speculation about who we may be taking with the third pick? Almost everyone in the media is saying Peterson. Don't worry, I was kidding about the Super Bowl reference. I'd rather take someone along the offensive or defensive lines before I'd take a running back. I hope that Thomas of Wisconsin falls to #3. Or, I wouldn't mind trading down to pick up some more picks.
March 2, 200718 yr ESPN says the Browns signed Eric Steinbach. Apparently this is a blockbuster deal. I don't understand football, unfortunately. Can anyone translate this to basketball??
March 3, 200718 yr We signed the best offensive lineman available in this year's free agent class. Considering that OL is the Browns' biggest weakness, this is very good news. Translation into basketball: Cavs pick up an all-star point guard.
