We came this close last night to being tied for first place.  3-0 on Monday night against Miami, are you kidding me.  Man would I like to see them again.

Well I don't think that game was indicative of the Steelers.  I don't know if you've every played an outdoor sport at any level where it's essentially a bog, but if you have, you'd know that it's nearly impossible.  Especially since the field was 2 layers of sod and the top layer covered the drainage.  The Patriots nearly lost to the Eagles, does that mean I think the Eagles would beat them if they played again?  Hardly.

Understandable, but to see the way the Steelers played last week also.  I really do not think they are what you think they are.

I really enjoyed the Browns' throwback uniforms this past week.

I'm really getting sick of all the people on sports talk radio saying we need to trade Anderson.. the guy is playing at a pro bowl level!!

And as much as I love Jamal Lewis and what he's done for the team this year, Michael Turner would sure look good in the Brown & Orange next season, especially with a stud line like we have.

My prediction: LeCharles Bentley will never play a game for the Browns, Greg Eslinger is the center of the future.

I like your prediction, but I think Mike Hart would actually look good in Brown & Orange next season.

Turner is only 25 right now, has proven he can play in the NFL (which Hart has not), and Turner wouldn't cost us a 1st round draft pick (which we don't have).

^ What about a guy like Marion Barber?  Isn't he a UFA after this season?

Actually, isn't Julius Jones a free agent this upcoming offseason?  I've been thinking that he might look good in brown & orange.

Jones is an UFA, Barber is restricted.

Turner is clearly the top of the free agent class, plus he's unrestricted.

Maybe the Texans' game was the corner-turner for the Browns, esp the D.  Guys like Brandon McDonald really came on strong.  And don't forget, until Sunday's Eagles' surprise, it was the Browns who tested New England more than any opponent, and since that time, our confidence is rising by leaps and bounds... who knows...?

You've got to be kidding.  I really hope that is a Photoshop.  Really.  It's almost as bad as the "I Like Cleveland" taxi cabs.

It would be cool if there was another helmet in the helmet on the helmet, and another helmet on that one and so on.

I think its hilarious. We all love the Browns helmet. I don't think that other regions understand the love.

Are you serious about the Taxi cab thing?? I've always loved the "I like Cleveland". Very original, innocent, and gently honest.

As long as they never wear these uniforms again.. I'll be happy.

Best Browns QB Ever:

It appears the Browns media reach is improving as I have just seen Brady Quinn's subway commercial three times in the past 5 minutes.  He's a horrible actor and the production of that spot is embarrassing, but hey, its a check.

Any thoughts on that non-touchdown at the end of the game?  I didn't see it... but a lot of people are saying the Browns got robbed.

No, the Browns did not get robbed.  It was a judgment call that could have went either way, and it went the other way.  The Browns shot themselves in the foot with all those penalties, especially the personal foul penalties.

Well, if it makes you feel any better... the Arizona Cardinals are 3-0 against the AFC North. lol  They're a good team... they just need to figure out how to win consistantly... and limit Kurt's crippling fumble habit.

I don't think that we got robbed. Kellen's momentum would have taken him out of bounce even if the defenders were not there.  The Browns were clearly the more talented team yesterday, but they just made so many stupid mistakes. We deserved to lose that one.

Yes, they deserved to lose.  The replays (I believe) clearly showed that Winslow jumped vertically, and would have come down in bounds if not forced out.  Unfortunately, force out calls are judgement calls and not subject to replay.  The only thing reviewable yesterday was whether or not he caught the ball and whether or not he came down inbounds.  As collinsworth and Olberman said last night, they were robbed because there is no provision for using replay to get this call correct on a game ending play.

The last Cardinal drive reminded me of the old days when the Browns would go to the prevent defense!  They held them the whole game, and couldn't stop them at the end.

I didn't realize the Browns were playing the Jets today.  I totaly would have gone to the game!

Another Browns game, another unnecessary heart attack.  We got our 8th victory limping through the 4th quarter rain in the Meadowlands when we could have walked away with a convincing victory that a playoff bound team should know how to manage by now.  We managed to "kill" 42 seconds on a 3 and out (one stuffed run and two poor passes from DA) with under 5 minutes left, up by two scores, when we should've been running the clock.  What came next was a shoddy defensive side that could've ended the game if not for a silly pass interference penalty by Leon Williams (poor call if you ask me).  Our D could've used a timeout, but Romeo sat on his hands instead of using one to help the squad catch their breath.  The Jets scored easily and then recovered an onsides kick.  I was so close to turning it off...

It was frustrating.. but a win is a win, regardless of the way its obtained.

If you didnt' realize who the Browns were playing, then you didn't deserve to go to the game!  ;)

As an aside, did anyone see Troy Smith's TD last night?

Cleveland Browns could clinch playoff berth this Sunday

The Browns can clinch an AFC wildcard playoff spot with a victory Sunday over the Buffalo Bills and a little help from their friends.  Here is their scenario for clinching:

1. The 8-5 Browns would have to beat the 7-6 Bills at home.

2. The 7-6 Titans would have to lose to the 4-9 Chiefs in Kansas City.

3. The 6-7 Broncos would either have to lose to or tie the 6-7 Texans in Houston on Thursday night.

I am really looking forward to the brown's letting me down in the post season instead of the third week of the season.  hooray for progress!

Winter Football forecast for 12/16/2007 from the Weather Channel:

Snow Shower / Wind High 26°F

Precipitation: 60%

Wind: NNW 21 mph

Sunset: 4:57

And we still have a game two weeks later and some playoff football to plan for!

I just love this video:

The Buffalo Bills have yet to beat a winning team this season, the best team they have beat is the 6-7 Washington Redskins.. the Bills are 7-6 with 2 wins coming verse the Miami Dolphins and another 2 wins verse the New York Jets..

While this is a big game, Buffalo is clearly not as good of a team as the Browns.  Plain and simple.

I didn't realize the Browns were playing the Jets today.  I totaly would have gone to the game!

If you didnt' realize who the Browns were playing, then you didn't deserve to go to the game!  ;)

We'll the Jets suck and I'm a Giants fan.  The problem is, I hate going to NJ to watch a NY team play.

The Jets really are not as bad as being portrayed here.  They have improved throughout the year and obviously not as bad as the Dolphins.  The one thing with the Bills is they continue to look better each week.  The Browns however at home should be able to pull it out.

It's gonna be cold, windy, and snowing.. the game is gonna come down to who can run the ball the best.

Cleveland Browns sign linebacker Kevin Adams, claimed center Marvin Philip on waivers from the Pittsburgh Steelers, waived center Greg Eslinger and linebacker Colby Bockwoldt and signed tight end Brad Cieslak to the practice squad.

^Well, I guess there goes the theory about Eslinger being the center of the future.

Yeah, the guy they picked up is the same situation, 06' 6th rounder, was a finalist for a bunch of college lineman awards.  I'm of the opinion that a center does not have to be a top flight draft pick.  There are very few pro-bowl left tackles that weren't 1st or 2nd rounders. but plenty of pro-bowl centers that were 6th-7th rounders.

It's gonna be cold, windy, and snowing.. the game is gonna come down to who can run the ball the best.

...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE SUNDAY NIGHT...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CLEVELAND HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE SUNDAY NIGHT.

SNOW WILL DEVELOP ACROSS NORTHEAST OHIO AND NORTHWEST PENNSYLVANIA BY LATE SATURDAY AFTERNOON. PRECIPITATION WILL BEGIN AS LIGHT SNOW BUT MAY MIX WITH SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN SATURDAY NIGHT. LOCATIONS FROM MILLERSBURG TO AKRON AND YOUNGSTOWN WILL SEE THE BEST CHANCE OF SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN SATURDAY NIGHT. PRECIPITATION WILL CHANGE BACK TO ALL SNOW SUNDAY MORNING BEFORE TAPERING OFF LATE SUNDAY NIGHT. ICE ACCUMULATIONS SHOULD GENERALLY BE LESS THAN A QUARTER OF AN INCH BUT STORM TOTAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS COULD REACH UP TO 8 INCHES ESPECIALLY NEAR LAKE ERIE. LOCATIONS ACROSS THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF NORTHWEST PENNSYLVANIA COULD SEE IN EXCESS OF 10 INCHES OF TOTAL SNOWFALL BY EARLY MONDAY MORNING.

A WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW... SLEET...OR ICE ACCUMULATIONS THAT MAY IMPACT TRAVEL. CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS.

I was at the last major snow game we had at home, in December 2004, the last game of the season verse the Chargers.  It was great, they were using snow blowers to clear the yard lines.. great indeed except for the fact we got our @$$ handed to us.

^I was at that game too.  A few years before that, there was a snow game against the Panthers (I think), where the wind was so strong that walking in the concourse in the upper deck was like getting blown down a wind tunnel.  I walked into the bathroom at one point and found what looked like half my section hiding in there.  And yes, I believe we got our $%& handed to us at this one too.

All that pain and suffering will be worth it when we hand the Bills their off-season ticket this weekend.

Fans' choice for Pro Bowl: Cribbs, Steinbach

by Mary Kay Cabot

Thursday December 13, 2007, 7:08 AM

Browns kick returner Joshua Cribbs and guard Eric Steinbach are one-third of the way to the Pro Bowl.  Both players finished first in fan voting, which ended Tuesday on NFL.com.  Now they just need the vote of the players and coaches, which each also count for a third.  Those ballots take place today and Friday with Pro Bowl teams being announced Tuesday at 4 p.m.

Snow, wind potential factor in Browns-Bills matchup

December 14, 2007

CLEVELAND (AP) -- It's not as though Cleveland and Buffalo aren't used to a little snow. But this storm could have an affect on Sunday's game between the Browns (8-5) and Bills (7-6), who are both fighting for a spot in the AFC playoffs. Cleveland is expected to get 4 to 6 inches Saturday night and more on Sunday with wind gusts up to 35 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

bring em on!! After 5  years in the Cleve , our very first Browns game (thanks to our neighbor, our friend R) and this is perfect: 30+ mph winds-a fine  lake breeze, freezing temps. snow. this is sweeeeeeeet! Any other UO in the house tomorrow?  I gotta say, this city's a beaut' in the snow...we go out on the Superior Viaduct year around and no matter what...nice. Always nice.

^ Have fun and remember to dress twice as warm as you think you need to.

I'm looking forward to a snowy, messy game and a Browns win!

Go Browns!!!  Everyone seems really excited. Someone take pictures...and don't forget to wear long underwear!!  brrrr.
