And the luckiest team in the league this season continues to be the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Steelers have been the luckiest team in the league for about the last 50 years.  It started with the Immaculate Reception in 1972.

Did Baker already have Covid? Any chance he would have been exposed?

if not testing positive, how long do you have to be held out for exposure?

5 days...which I don't understand, but it's the rule.

ah, ok so that would be over after saturday, right?

i guess that means they are good to play sunday night.

another question --  wouldn't we know the steelers covid results by now too? now i wonder about that.

Anyone who may have contracted the virus on Sunday likely wouldn't test positive yet.

oh right, if others test positive between now and then, the exposure zone or whatever would go forward from those dates.

what a bizzare, unwinding mess.

as with the whole country and world for that matter.

There will be more positives this week, no doubt.  This was under 36 hours after the game Sunday. I would expect positives on both sides.  Can’t you be an asymptomatic spreader before testing positive?  I’m no doctor but I thought that is how that works.

Assuming Stefanski has a no-symptoms or light case, couldn't he coach y remote from a safe space?

Or from the sidelines in a hazmat suit?

The NFL should be moving all these teams to a bubble in one city for the rest of the playoffs.   But they won't because it isn't manly and goes against the politics of NFL owners.

TBF - weather plays a bigger part in football than most sports. I'd be reluctant to go to a bubble as the owner of a Northern playoff team. Though, your point is well taken

At least an indoor stadium like Dallas kind of neutralizes weather for all teams, and if they conducted a bubble properly would eliminate all the players missing due to COVID.  Whoever makes it through this playoff series may have a Superbowl championship with an ** attached due to shorthanded teams.

Guys.... we’re going to win this game.

From the article:

“It is common practice to allow the violator to destroy a small amount of what could be marijuana in lieu of investigating the matter further,” Vogel said. “There has been a shift toward not citing people for this minor misdemeanor. "

=========================

Anyone know if Westlake police (or Cleveland-area police more generally) are actually sincere about this across the board or are more--selective--when dealing with possible violators?

I got busted by Geauga County sheriff with a very small amount of weed in my car in the late 90s. The sheriff dumped the baggy and sent us on our way.

This is anecdotal but I assume law enforcement has gotten more relaxed since then.

Lol - anecdotal again - but 10 days after I graduated high school, me and three of my friends were caught with a case of beer and about 15 empties in a trash bag in the trunk on our way to a sand volleyball game. We had a DD, but we were still underage...

When we were all out of the car (North Royalton) the police found out we were all going to play college football (one of my friends was going to Notre Dame and another to OSU), and the tone of the whole thing changed. We were cuffed, put on the side of the road, and an officer (7 officers at the scene at this point) - an officer walked up to us and said:

"Okay guys, level with us... whose marijuana is in the center counsel?" *We had no weed on us and all said there shouldn't be any weed in the car* He then says "c'mon guys - we're going to search the rest of the car how much more weed are we going to find? Wouldn't want this turning into a felony level situation?" Again we all said we had no clue how any weed got in the car. The officer then goes (and burned into my mind) - "okay yeah there's no weed. have your DD take you home, we took the alcohol." and we each got cited with underage consumption and possession - they even gave the DD possession.

My point is - I think they would be likely to be MORE, not less critical of Rashad Higgins and J Wills, rather than less.

Hmm.  That's a tough one.  If they were both going to Notre Dame, I'd say throw the book at them, but if they were both going to OSU, I'd say send them on their way and let them keep the beer.  The 1-1 split makes things much more complicated.

If it’s a high scoring game I can definitely see the Browns outracing them. Much harder to imagine the defense holding up when it counts in a tight game vs Ben.

Also the Steelers were beneficiaries of several questionable calls vs the Colts. Here’s hoping the refs aren’t quite so influential on Sunday night.

So COVID-19 has too many men on the field?

Browns still haven't practiced, and now this....... (why are we playing this game this weekend?)

And still no Steelers on Covid-19 list?

Yeah...whatever that means...do that!!!!

Juju Smth-Schuster is a punk. Takes real courage to talk crap when the guy you're fighting has an arm tied behind his back

welp you cant have a better start to this game than the first play just now lol.

lets hope its a sign.

hey maybe it is a sign — an interception and another quick browns td.

oh lord dont give me hope lol.

of course, this is browns luck, even if they win they get the gift of kc next week (pitts would get the bills).

they just out muscled pitts front o line and forced a punt. its immediately good to have harrison back he was the stopper.

this is the first chance to see anything of these teams, what a crazy start to the game. not complaining tho lol.

holy schmokes what the heck is going on here? browns rip off long run after run and bazinga third td.

another interception by da brownies wat da heck is going on here? deez boyz crazy!!

another td i am in a state of shock

yep, it's been an interesting 2021, safe to say

I am not relaxed though. I am still having flashbacks of the last playoff game.

^ yeah the announcers mentioned that and i was like heck yeah immediately!

so another masterful march right down the field and yet another browns td before halftime.

this is just the kind of mindless distraction i need right now!

i forgot i had posted browns 55 steelers 3 joking around on another forum a couple weeks ago and somebody pulled it back up and said you’re in play lol.

Wow! They overcame the odds. I love this team.

At the end of it all, this was the scene most worth it...

Kevin Stefanski just lost coach of the year last night and should be due a paycut.

He barely beat the Steelers last week at home when they played their reserves.

His assistant took them to the woodshed last night when Cleveland was down their starters.

FIRE STEFANSKI!!!   :) :)

(yes, i am kidding of course)

Joe Woods - you dog! He did it.... he committed to making the Steelers go on drives, and it bought us all the time we needed with our early lead.

The Browns spent 18 years trying to be the smartest person in the room. Now they finally are the smartest person in the room.  All those Ivy league degrees, good communication, organization, detail focus is why they are so successful.  What an incredible job that Stefanski didnt feel sorry for himself for a second, they made best use of every minute they had last week to prepare and they came up with a plan that worked.

Hot take, that first play fumble was a gift for energy and impact in game.  Im not sure what that game looks like without that play

As a teammate - I would've dogged Ben out on the sideline for that. He refused to dive on the fumble and cost them team 7 versus 2 or even 0. That's a coward and not someone I want leading the team.

I'm not asking him to block, or even make tackles on INTs.... but you've gotta dive on fumbles.
