December 16, 200717 yr OK. What is going on at the game? What is with this baseball score? Its like the Indians are playing. My flight is delayed and on TV the city looks like its in white out condition. Some of my family is at the game and they back up The Pope statement that it's not really cold just windy & rainy. Go Browns, just do it!! :whip: Go Jags. Go Kansas City. PS: Dear Santa, once the browns clinch, I would like to request a first round win over the Steelers! Wrapped in a pretty bow, of course.
December 16, 200717 yr bring em on!! After 5 years in the Cleve , our very first Browns game (thanks to our neighbor, our friend R) and this is perfect: 30+ mph winds-a fine lake breeze, freezing temps. snow. this is sweeeeeeeet! Any other UO in the house tomorrow? I gotta say, this city's a beaut' in the snow...we go out on the Superior Viaduct year around and no matter what...nice. Always nice. Peaboby is that you?
December 16, 200717 yr It was a great time, although I had a boot failure that resulted in wet feet...That field goal made it all worth it. 50 mph gusts out side the stadium resulted in no pictures...many were getting blown over. After the game we walked home and found that the Flats were lovely, dark and deep (OK I am ripping off Robert Frost, but so true). Then we had hot cocoa in dry socks and watched people out the window drive home on unplowed roads to lord knows where . If they lived in the City they would be home!
December 16, 200717 yr That last photo - that is awesome! clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
December 16, 200717 yr We need these larger! Seriously that last photo is bad ass (term borrowed from another UO member).
December 16, 200717 yr I have sizing issues. Reminds me of a girl I used to date. I have no idea what that was supposed to mean.
December 17, 200717 yr I was there! What a way to experience my first Browns game! I sat in the Dawg Pound and everyone was having a blast. There was one very vocal Bills fan in front of us, and everyone started chucking snow balls at him, it was Hilarius!
December 17, 200717 yr From what I remember I was there.. the worst part of the day was the wind and the icy sidewalks.. I fell 10 times.
December 17, 200717 yr did any of you, other than Peabody, take pictures? You know we like pretty pictures.

December 17, 200717 yr Airplane mishap adds insult to injury Posted by Donna J. Miller December 17, 2007 11:57AM Categories: Top Story Cleveland beat the Buffalo Bills on two fields -- at the stadium Sunday and at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, where the team's plane got stuck in mud this morning. The team spent the night in Cleveland because of the snowstorm. Their plane landed here about 8:15 a.m. The pilot of the chartered Delta 767 plane misjudged a curve of a taxiway. The plane dropped off the pavement as it was heading toward the IX Center to pick up the team. More at http://blog.cleveland.com/plaindealer/2007/12/airplane_mishap_adds_insult_to.html
December 17, 200717 yr Should've taken the train! It departs Cleveland for Buffalo at 7 a.m. every day (though this morning's train left Cleveland 35 minutes down and got to Buffalo 70 minutes late -- 11:05 a.m.). "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
December 17, 200717 yr I like that second to last picture you posted Peabody. The old industrial warehouses and Superior Viaduct really look amazing with the snow.

December 20, 200717 yr well if this site has not been over burdened enough...Lets hope I sized these where you can see them 1. This was the scene waiting for the Flat Iron Shuttle. The shuttle will take customers to Browns games one way, and Indians games round trip (free, with purchase). I highly recommend it . 2. Heading into game. Quite a slippery walk. I was too busy trying to keep myself upright to take awesome action shots of everyone getting blown around. 3. The River walking home-gusts would stir up up some serious angry waves. 4. 2 other folks stroll along as if a summer day (hopefully you can see it this time). 5. An obligatory Flats bridge shot (sorry!).
December 20, 200717 yr wow. Looks fun. I haven't been to a game at the new stadium. I'm sure the experience is much better than Giants stadium.
December 20, 200717 yr Kellen Winslow to Penthouse: Cleveland Browns Changing Uniforms Next Year Submitted by Eugmc on December 19, 2007 - 10:36pm. Cleveland Browns Cleveland Teams News Sports If you are going to go by the word of the "Soldier" Kellen Winslow, the Cleveland Browns are set to change their uniforms next season. The gifted, if somewhat mentally imbalanced, tight end told the mens magazine Penthouse: Penthouse: The Browns have never significantly changed their uniforms design. But when your name is the Browns, what can you really do with that? The Soldier's Answer : You know what? We're in the process of changing all that. Next year, you're gonna see some new uniforms for the Cleveland Browns. This is really a big part of what Braylon Edwards and I have been talking about for a long time. It may be something similar to what the Broncos have. It's time for a change. Sometimes people live in the past in Cleveland. That's fine, but this team is trying to build an identity and start up something new. Kellen, did that motorcycle accident do something other than damage your knees? The Cleveland Browns will change their uniforms the same day that the New York Yankees change their traditional jerseys. It will not happen no matter how much Braylon Edwards wants that. Although the Browns should lose that silly Al Lerner emblem on their sleeves, which only reminds true Browns fans that it was on his plane that the agreement to move the team was signed on.
December 20, 200717 yr Alright.. enough fruity estrogen in this thread.. can we please get back to discussing the Browns, not the weather. Edwards, Cribbs headed to Hawaii Zac Jackson, Staff Writer 12.18.2007 After a five-year hiatus, the Browns are back in the Pro Bowl. The NFL announced wide receiver Braylon Edwards and kick returner Joshua Cribbs will represent the AFC squad on Tuesday. The Browns also had four players chosen as first alternates -- quarterback Derek Anderson, tight end Kellen Winslow, left tackle Joe Thomas and left guard Eric Steinbach. Fullback Lawrence Vickers is a second alternate, and kicker Phil Dawson is a third alternate. http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/article.php?id=7991
December 20, 200717 yr LeCharles Bentley's contract length reduced, cap space grows for Cleveland Browns Thursday, December 20, 2007 Mary Kay Cabot - Plain Dealer Reporter The Browns have shortened center LeCharles Bentley's contract by three years and he can now become an unrestricted free agent after the 2008 season, according to NFL Players Association records. The restructured deal will pay Bentley the NFL minimum for his position ($605,000) next season, but includes incentives that can earn him the $4 million he was due to make in base salary and roster bonus. The new deal protects the Browns from having to pay Bentley $4 million in the event he can't play, yet it allows him to make up the money if he's healthy. http://www.cleveland.com/browns/plaindealer/index.ssf?/base/sports/1198143269305810.xml&coll=2
December 20, 200717 yr I really think Thomas & Steinbach got snubbed. I have trouble believing that Jason Peter from Buffalo is a better LT than Thomas.
January 9, 200817 yr Well Thomas is stubbed no more.. because of an injury to Peters haha. Cleveland Browns left tackle Joe Thomas headed to Pro Bowl Posted by Staff reports January 08, 2008 18:32PM Cleveland Browns left tackle Joe Thomas has been named to the 2008 AFC Pro Bowl roster, the league announced today, replacing Jason Peters of the Buffalo Bills. Thomas, the third overall selection in last year's 2007 NFL Draft, played in every snap this season and started all 16 games at left tackle. Thomas was part of an offensive line that allowed only 19 sacks all season, which ranks tied for third fewest in franchise history. January 9, 200817 yr ^ That is some great news! Good for him...he deserves it. I love that Phil Savage (and probably Romeo) is predominantly picking up guys with a lot of integrity. Not only can guys like Thomas and Wimbley play, but they're phenomenal role models.
January 9, 200817 yr Braylon Edwards, Josh Cribbs, and Phil Dawson all made second team AP All-Pro 2007.
January 9, 200817 yr Browns GM Savage says Crennel's contract will be extended soon; names Anderson starting QB for next season Posted by Mary Kay Cabot January 09, 2008 12:28PM The Browns plan to extend the contract of coach Romeo Crennel, as early as the next few days, Browns general manager Phil Savage said during his post-season news conference today in Berea.
January 11, 200817 yr Cleveland Browns fire defensive coordinator Grantham Posted by Tony Grossi January 11, 2008 11:55AM
January 11, 200817 yr He should have been fired! Now if only KW2 would have been voted into the pro bowl.
January 11, 200817 yr ^ You may get your wish. Antonio Gates from the Chargers may miss because he has a sprained big toe or something like that. If he opts out and doesn't play, then K2 is in. I liked Grantham. Remember how everyone loved all of the passion he had on the sidelines? What happened to all of that in 2007? I'm a little disappointed, but hey, life goes on.
January 11, 200817 yr As much as I love the recognition our offensive (and special teams) players are getting, I'd be content if none of them even went to Hawaii. All it takes is one play to lose Joe Thomas, BE, KW2, or anyone else for 12 months!
January 11, 200817 yr The Bengals are still looking for one too. But are there any good ones out there? If there are wouldn't they be with a team already? lol
January 11, 200817 yr I think the big difference this past season with the defense was not resigning Brian Russell.
January 12, 200817 yr I think the big difference this past season with the defense was not resigning Brian Russell. i think that our secondary was decent. It was our defensive line that kept us from winning 12 games.

Pontbriand joins kick returner Joshua Cribbs, wide receiver Braylon Edwards and left tackle Joe Thomas as the first Browns players selected to the Pro Bowl since linebacker Jamir Miller in 2001 (2002 Pro Bowl). The last time the Browns had this many players in the Pro Bowl was the 1994 season, when six were selected. http://blog.cleveland.com/sports/2008/01/cleveland_browns_snapper_pontb.html
January 29, 200817 yr Crennel gets 2-year extension Tuesday, January 29, 2008 Mary Kay Cabot - Plain Dealer Reporter Browns coach Romeo Crennel agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension Monday night, his agent Joe Linta said. The deal, through 2011, is believed to be in the $4 million-per-year range. Crennel had two years remaining on his original five-year deal. The extension comes after Crennel led the Browns to an unanticipated 10-6 record after most national experts predicted they'd be lucky to win six games.
