It is amazing to me that this is one of 32 jobs in the world, and the guy they hire cannot do it well.   If I was Stefanski, McGlaughlin would be on a Greyhound home tonight and a fresh guy in Berea tomrorow morning!

I'm not sure what the American viewing audience did to deserve watching this prime time game...but it must've been bad.

This is awful to watch.

This offense is just painful to watch.  Our defense actually played a pretty good game.

I'm just waiting for @YABO713to tell me how good Stefanski was this game.

Those aerial shots of downtown Baltimore were impressive.  I wish Cleveland's harbor looked that nice.

Oh he was awful last night. No defending it.

Still doesn't invalidate my thoughts on him generally.

We couldn't run block to save our lives. The lack of discipline was atrocious. And we have a QB playing at 50% while the league's most capable backup rides the bench.

When he has bad days, it should be called out. Yesterday was a bad day.

Do you think Mayfield is a good long term option if healthy? This was the worst possible situation to evaluate him for a second contract. He is certainly not having a good year, but a torn labrum along with his other injuries certainly influence that.

As much as I hate to admit it, the guy is a hell of a competitor and I think demonstrates good leadership that can help the Browns excel. I do not think he is a phenomenal QB, but is quite effective when healthy and given the opportunity to win. He was very good last year, but mediocre in year 2.

I dont know how you can pay him big money to stay with this year's results, but I dont know how you can let him go either. To me, he has this Drew Brees factor that will make him a decent long term QB. May not ever reach HOF numbers but I dont think I could give up on him yet. Also, looking at the QB pool in college this year, there are no real standout candidates and I do not know if anyone in next year's class has stood out yet either. CJ Stroud is a work in progress, so is Bryce Young. There is no Trevor Lawrence coming down the pike in 2022/2023 drafts.

^ but can he be healthy again?

because these sound like long term nagging injuries.

after all mayfield is no big ben sized guy -- and he needs to be at his physical best to even be effective as we have seen.

as for now ... we do have another qb ... just sayin ...

I'm a Baker believed (though not to a fault lol), but I'm starting to question that, honestly. I think he's a top 10-12 QB when healthy, but with the way he plays, injuries are going to come in the NFL.

If the Browns pivot at QB at this point, it has to be a veteran (Deshaun Watson, Russell Wilson, etc.), our team is too talented to start from scratch with a rookie QB. (Mac Jones is an anomaly).

That is the biggest thing on Baker. In his prime and healthy he is a #7-12 QB. That is not top QB level but still too good to give up on completely. I also think his intangibles and leadership are strong.

However, Watson is a top 3-10 QB with a higher upside. He is a difference maker if he would ever be cleared by the league. I do not know if Wilson gets you there anymore. He is in his 30's now and is probably subject to diminishing returns going forward.

Since the end of 2018, Baker has just three 4th quarter come backs / game-winning drives, including none this season.

Baker also leads the league in 4th-quarter interceptions since being drafted in 2018.

Very Stable Genius

I also hate to say I told you so to the "GET RID OF OBJ" crowd...

Dear God -NO!!!!- on Watson!  I can't believe people are even talking about him as an option.  He's going to be embroiled in legal troubles and lawsuits and drama for years to come.  And that's leaving aside that it would be the stupidest possible business move to make this guy the face of the franchise now.  And THAT's leaving aside the actual moral repugnance of bringing him to our team and into our town.

I assume they are factoring in Ravens QB out for remainder of game.

Browns need to find a kicker.

fumble — and here we go — the browns are tryna snatch defeat from victory.

i dk how they held the ravens off from a fg in the end after fumbling, but they did it. geez. crazy. i hate this game lol.

trying to be somewhat realistic, but ideally/best case the browns could go 3-1.

more likely though 2-2.

i don't know that that gets them in the playoffs.

likely no.

also, how weird the next two games are saturday games.

Cleveland Browns schedule

Week 15: vs. Las Vegas Raiders

Week 16: at Green Bay Packers

Week 17: at Pittsburgh Steelers

Week 18: vs. Cincinnati Bengals

A shame the Browns played so poorly vs the Steelers earlier this year.  That was a winnable game.  They would be in better shape now had they won it.

Didn't Stefanski already have Covid back in January?

I just saw video of Baker meeting with local schoolchildren, picking them up, hugging them etc.   He was in a mask and the kids were too.  While we all love these sorts of charitable endeavors, perhaps they are not wise during Covid times...

Yes, it is possible to get it twice.

So apparently Covid will never go away.

Not really the topic for this thread, though.

no kidding? well i am surprized, but the nfl finally made the right call. the players were rightly getting steamed about the unfairness of it. we all will have to live with irregular cancelations of events for awhile longer.

wait, so now the browns play monday … and then next saturday? yikes — they should move that to sunday at least.

Well, it's not as bad as playing on a Sunday, then playing  again on the following Thursday, which they did earlier this season.

Does anyone know how many key players the Browns are likely to have back on Monday?

I'm willing to hazard a guess that, no, nobody knows.

Well if anything I suppose the delay at least gives that QB some time to learn the playbook.

Teller is back. That's one...

Totally.  Why couldn't Mcglaughlin test positive.  I'd be happy with a practice squad kicker
