^ hahahhaha nice.

And something needs to change with our line. Gives the runner no holes to run through. Collapses almost every play which pressures McCoy. And now cant even block for a field goal?! Cant blame Dawson for that. I kicked in high school and it was annoying when the line would collapse. People like blaming the kicker even though you can do nothing about a shitty line.

I agree.  Dawson had a fantastic game and scored 100% of the Browns points.  His 50+ long field goals were picture perfect, right down the middle and probably still good from another yard out.

Im sorry but Josh Cribbs is not a playmaker. He drops passes and hasn't had a kick return for a touchdown in years. And last year he was a below average returner.

Agreed. Cribbs was great a couple years ago, but he's becoming less of an asset each season. I'm not sure if he's slowing down with age, or if he's not getting the blocking he did in previous seasons. (I suspect both.)

For that matter I tend to think Hillis is a bit overrated as well. I'm too lazy to look at stats, but Hardesty seemed to do about as well yesterday as Hillis has been doing this season (and the end of last season). He was a good player last year when no one knew who he was or that they should be concerned about him, now that he's not a surprise he's been worth about 3 yards a play. Not exactly a game changer. In his defense though, he's not getting the blocks he did last year.

I thought the Offensive line looked mediocre. Most of the hits on McCoy came around the edges, which is a failure to adapt the play at the line rather than a failure by the linemen to block. Much of that probably comes from McCoy's own lack of experience, so it doesn't concern me too much. That said, there were a few plays (like the blocked kicks) that showed that these guys aren't as good as they should be. Though in their defense, Seattle does have a particularly good defensive line.

Agreed with Hillis, and he shows he isnt durable.

I imagine for the average football fan, watching yesterday's game was a lot like me watching a pitching duel in baseball.  Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.........

I'm a bit different because I can appreciate great defensive play.  I always find it ironic how excited a fan base can be after a 55-52 win in which the defense plays just as bad as the offense did yesterday, but can be so down on a game in which your defense held the opposing team to less than 150 yards of total offense.

Don't get me wrong.... the offense was painful to watch and there seems to be some regression in their play these past few weeks.  But all is not lost.  We are sure to improve upon our #7 defensive ranking and considering that is where H&H's focus has been in the draft these past few years, I hope they are just as good at picking offensive players.

How did our O-Line get so bad?  We can't even protect a 3-step drop.

You caught a great play by Joe Haden in that picture.  Not only was it good anticipation, but he finished the tackle off well with the blocker barreling down on him.

Thanks for the pics, mkeller234. Glad to hear the Green Line train worked out well for you. Another satisfied customer! :)

Hillis might not have the sort of season he had last year, but he is better than Hardesty for several reasons. First, Hardesty is less of a battering ram - optimistically, he's an elusive version of Hillis. But he has shown very little elusiveness and instead runs straight into tacklers - without driving them back, something Hillis can do fairly well if he's able to make upper-body contact. Second, Hardesty can't catch. Hillis can - very well.

I understand he's having a rough season, but I would start him as soon as he's near 100%. I don't think he's as fragile as his unfortunate injuries this season make him seem.

He had injuries in Denver that ruined his chances there. And he does have a fumbling problem.

I wish we still had Vickers and Jerome Harrison!(I hope he's alright).

There is one Hardesty play from last Sunday that sticks out in my mind.  It was the Browns first trip to the red zone I believe, Hardesty eluded a tackle and had one man to beat... but ran staight to into him.  Still, I think he played ok.  Not phenomenal, but he did keep a hold of the ball and gained enough yards to eat the clock.

I was excited to see Haden play in person, I wasn't so sure I would get the opportunity.  So many times you don't get to see him in action on TV coverage.

I know, its such a better experience being there. You can actually see the play develop. Like passes, you can see the receiver running the route and whether or not he can catch it as the ball flys through the air. On tv you watch and then realize there was nobody even over there once it hits the ground.

Wow. No comments on that crapfest.

What is there to say? The Defense looked good once they woke up, but they apparently slept through the first quarter. The Offense was probably a little better than last week, but that's not saying much.

I have high hopes for that negative yard pass play on third down.

Goodbye and good luck to Brian Robiske.  I wish he would have worked out, maybe he will find a place with another team.

Realistically he was no loss.

Who would have thought at the beginning of the season that this far into the season our top two running backs would be Ogbonnaya and Clayton. Even though I did expect Hillis and Hardesty to be injured at one point of the season

Hillis reinjures hamstring, oh bother.

Honestly, if he was that delicate, why did they let him practice. Now he's probably down for another week or two.

Well, the good news is, it will be nice weather for raking leaves on Sunday.

My 11 year old niece is tougher than he is!

Remember tight end Harry Holt in the 1980s? That guy would pull a hamstring just by sneezing. I hope Hillis isn't becoming another Harry Holt. He was talented but never panned out.

He is becoming a mess in every aspect. If he is not here next season I wont be that disappointed. If anything im afraid he will become an even bigger distraction.

KJP, you went back.  But very good point!

This team is really depressing, not even halftime yet & I already want to change the channel

I don't believe McCoy is the answer but in all honesty, I'm starting to feel bad for him. This offensive line is pathetic, only team that linemans hold and still give up sacks. :-D

In all fairness, when they do give him time to throw  :-o he throws low, behind, or over the attended recievers head.

NICE PLAY by the defense that has played horribly today, D.Jackson should be a probowler this year :)

this is all shurmur at this point.  PLaycalling is terrible, he has no passion, he has no creativity, no time management.  He has no clue what he is doing.  Dont give me that business about a new coach and no talent.  I saw Tony Sporano take an awful miami team a few years back from 1-15 to 11-5 and he had FIRE.  He still has fire.  This isnt COlts problem anymore.

I turned it off midway through the second quarter.  There will be no New England or New Orleans win for this team this year. BD, I couldn't agree more. Pat Shurmur is just plain awful. Who in their right mind lets a rookie head coach call his own plays. No creativity whatsoever. Holmgren is a huge disappointment thus far.

I agree with you that its some blame to be put on Shumer just aswell as our president Mr.H, but you must admit when Colt does have time, his accuracy is totally lacking. With that said, you're right about the play calling, JUST PLAIN HORRIBLE. This team can't tackle, doesn't contain any fire in em, and can't focus for anything (false starts &silly penalties), which is the blame of the coach and players. I understand Colt rarely has time, but he's too ancy in the pocket, sometimes he runs out into a sack when he should've and could've stayed strong in the pocket. Shumer should really put the playsheet down, a toddler could call a better game then him D:

We have many needs next year, both on D and O STILL. Those 3 wins will come back and haunt us. Sometimes im torn, im as die hard as they come but im always thinking of next year (draft). I would rather have us winless then another 4-5 win season, really what does 4-5 wins do to this team and fans ? DOESN'T MAKE ME OPPTIMISTIC ONE BIT, atleast give us a team that gives it their all every Sunday.

Hiring Shurmer was a big time mistake, im like others are hoping Colt is the guy (loves his heart and guts) but to be frank about I don't think he is. Heart and guts can only get you so far. If Colt isn't the guy and if Shurmer isn't the guy, strap in your seatbelts because we're setting ourselfs back another 2-3 more years added on :(

perfect

The last line....... spot on

Well that was certainly better than I expected.

That guy's really only mildly funny.  But he's a cleveland.com'ers wet dream.

I love every stinkin' minute!

I thought this video was ok, the Cleveland Tourism Videos, not so much.

Same guy? F him! lol

I thought this video was ok, the Cleveland Tourism Videos, not so much.

Yup.  He made a name for himself by trashing the city in those videos and once again embarrassing us on a national level (these videos went viral and everyone who knows how to work the interwebs saw them).  He then played the "it's okay, I'm allowed to do that because I'm from here" card.

Maurice Jones Drew does the LeBron "chalk toss" thing in the end zone, and the Jaguars "fail to achieve victory".

Coincidence?

I thought this video was ok, the Cleveland Tourism Videos, not so much.

Agreed.  Polk does have a lot of pro Cleveland videos out there as well.  His ode to Christmas Ale is a good one.  Anyways back to the browns.  Glad we got the win.  I think Norwood in the slot is going to become a very nice player.  He was Penn State's go to guy for three yrs.

Just announced:

The December 4 game against the Ravens has been moved to 4:05 PM. The NFL is utilizing the "flexible Schedule" rule. No reason was given other than that as of now.

G-d d-mmit! I'm going to that game. I don't want to freeze my arse off at night!

I predict that was the last game we're going to win this season. We may have a shot at beating Phoenix, but since it's an away game I feel more confident that my prediction will come true.

I sure wish we could have beaten St. Louis last week so we could have five wins this season -- for the third year in a row.

Yes, I know I'm being a debbie downer. But rest assured that my predictions suck.

"In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck

I don't think you are being a downer... probably just realistic.  I was hoping for at least 5 wins at this point.  Yesterday's game was mostly pretty fun to watch.  My only hope is that they don't get thumped by the other AFC north teams.

So, what do we all think of that field goal?  I'm going with: We didn't have a good view and will never really know.  Kick it down the middle and it's not open for debate!  Still love Dawson though.

On Mike Polk: Remember a loooong time ago, he was one of the hosts for channel five... afternoon cartoons or something.  Anyway, I was a young kid then and always thought the bits between shows were pretty lame.  He also did some Marco's pizza commercials that were pretty bad in that local commercial way.  I laughed at the Cleveland tourism videos...but some things like fish having AIDs sort of irked me.  All of this to say, I liked the browns video.  I think it captured what I feel each week after a bad loss, for the most part.  It felt like he was more of a fan, less of a comedian.

I don't see why field goals need to be a "judgement call".  I can't imagine that a multibillion dollar enterprise like the NFL can't get some IR sensors in the goals posts- games are on the line with these "judgement calls" sometimes.

We may have a shot at beating Phoenix

Don't you mean Glendale?

Don't you mean Glendale?

Actually, I meant Arizona! But Glendale is fine too.

How many different location names did the baseball Angels claim as their home without moving more than a parking lot away?

Hmmm lets see Los Angeles Angels, California Angels, Anaheim Angels, and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. I think thats it. :)

I knew I liked Norwood!

This defense is horrible :-D, but they made the stop when it mattered most. Nice start of the game for the Offense, im really starting to love Norwood lol. Why not hurry up and try to run a play when its obvious he didn't run for first down :\, LET'S GO BROWNIESSSSSSSSSS !
