will we ever see the exciting young tandem of Winslow & Edwards?  Braylon just tore his ACL and will be out for the remainder of this season and likely part of the next.  By the time either one of them actually settles in or they play on the same day, they're not going to be so young anymore!  That, and they'll both be recovering from significant leg injuries...how will that affect their games?

On the bright side, Frye looked great on Sunday and Droughns finally ended a long-standing 1,000 yard rushing drought for the Browns... Do you think he deserves a new contract?

What is that line we always say here in Cleveland?

Ah yes- "Next year, next year."

As far as I'm concerned, Droughns has earned his money.  He's making chump change next year for a back with consecutive 1,000 yard seasons.  It would also go a long way towards player morale and future holdouts if we held up our end of the deal and renegotiated.

Other priorities are resigning Andra Davis and Roye.  I'd like to have Bryant back too, but he's a bit more replaceable.

Droughns is by far my favorite Cleveland runningback to watch in quite a while (But I do think White was way underappreciated).  Powerful and able to make people miss.  If Winslow can do the things he is supposed to be able to, we could have quite the high-powered offense next year.

"next year"

and I'm already thinking two years down the line, when we might actually see our last two top picks playing together!

Err... all I know is that it's unfortunate about Edwards - he's quite a hottie and now we'll see less of him since he's on the disabled list!  :-D

Agreed! Don't you just love to look at the guys the white pants - even if its is well past labor day!

Lets just hope Northcutt doesn't get injured or the "eyecandy" factor will definately take a hit!

What happened to this thread?

So I am guessing we don't want your takes on the Dilfer-Frye controversy?

quarterbacks for quarterpounders?

There's no controversy to MayDay and MyTwoSense...Frye clearly has the nicer ass.  :)

As a big Browns, Indians, Cavs fan.  I'm not happy with either of our QB's.  I honestly liked holcomb.  and don't get me started on  that fuck*n winslow!  Mister, "I've taken 9 snaps -  and haven't played in the past two years - but still gets paid idiot!"  :x

If you call that an ass!  I prefer my men like missy Elliot says.....with a  ba dunka dunk dunk!  Not the JLo-esq culito.  but something you know is an ass!  lol

Holcomb was great.  As long as he wasn't starting.

See I like Kelly starting.  He wanted to open up the offense and had the weapons.  As far as Chuckie is concerned, I thought he got off to a great start last sunday but the defense let him down.

The most popular guy on the team always seems to be the backup quarterback.

Holcomb was adequate when he had protection, but when things broke down he was gawd-awful!  He had a noodle for an arm, but made up for it by making good decisions (when he had the time).

Graham...Ryan...Nelson...Sipe...Kosar......

Testaverde?

I think the big difference between the first and second half last week was that our offensive line called it quits after the second quarter.  Frye was getting hit hard on every snap in the third quarter and just barely regained his balance in the 4th enough to make a little progress.  The 3rd killed us, though.  What'd we have, -7 total yards?

Testaverde?

That was not list every Browns QB, but list every GOOD Browns QB.

Vinny does not qualify

Speaking of the O-line, where have they gone lately.  They started the season looking pretty good, but since have been very inconsistent.  The silly penalties they've been picking up lately don't really help either.

I didn't see the browns/bengals game.  Frye looked pretty good from all reports, but id like to know what you guys thought of his performance.

Overall, I was pretty impressed with him.  He made a few rookie mistakes which is to be expected; but I think if he's given more playing time he will continue to develop into a pretty good NFL quarterback.  I'm just tickled pink to see a QB in a Brown's uni who's got some decent mobility and is able to move the pocket.

Great arm- strong and accurate, good mobility.  Sometimes he makes rookie mistakes, of course, and sometimes I think he holds onto the ball too long.  Then again, because he can move, sometimes he is able to make something out of what looks like nothing when he does so.

well frye didn't lose the game

worst game of the week this week in the nfl? browns-raiders game. glad i did not trudge up to blondie's to sit thru that yawner. well at least they won!

Preview - Box Score - Recap

CLEVELAND (AP) -- The Pittsburgh Steelers didn't overlook the Cleveland Browns. They overran, overpowered and overwhelmed them instead.

Ben Roethlisberger threw one touchdown pass and Willie Parker busted off an 80-yard TD run as the Steelers improved their playoff chances with a 41-0 demolition of the Browns on Saturday.

Boooooooooooooooooooooo!  :x

What a surprise...

Hopefully Cincy can beat Pitt in the playoffs though..

The game wasn't on in NYC but when I got home I read this.    Oy vey!  I'm depressed just reading this.  What a horrible Holiday present!

The only worthwhile part of that game was when Harrison bodyslammed that drunken neck.

why the clappy face? oh thats right he is a stillerz fan and pa does not have website like this -- lol!

Even if I wasn't a PA native... there is a region of Ohio that is solid Steelers territory... Youngstown through E. Liverpool through Steubenville, St. Clairsville, etc.  Even where I live in Wooster... I have met/seen/encountered many Steelers fans... I see Steelers fans all over the place in Canton... I wore a Steelers jersey in the heart of Cleveland a couple months ago and got tons of positive responses (and no heckling whatsoever).

^ditto wearing browns, tribe & cavs stuff around pittsburgh. its not like they've never been spotted - lol! we have family who are life-long crazy clev sports fans in donora, so it happens.

all this is nothing new. back in the day i noticed a lot of toledoans who were all tigers crazy during their 80's world series years, who could blame them it was a fun run, and then just as tribe crazy during their big 90's run. what happened? well the tiggers stunk then & the tribe got good thats what. so when the steelers stink again (no i wont hold my breath for that to happen anytime soon -- lol, but it will happen), and the browns get back to even halfway decent those people will be wearing browns stuff again. bordertown fans notoriously get to have it both ways in the sports world.

Well now Youngstown is Steelhound territory.

Wait a minute.  Steel(ers)?  Hound?  Hound=dog=dawg=Browns!  Once you crack the code, it's right there.

Damn, did you need to start a thread about this.  As if the score wasn't painful enough.

yeah i see it says note this map is highly inaccurate. so as i said, that the map is likely to change season by season at each team's territorial edges given how well the nearby team is doing. for example, bet there are also plenty more fair weather bengals fans all around ohio this year, ditto colts fans outside of their "predominant" ohio bryan/paulding colts fanbase -- lol!

here's another --- on the nba map maybe they would make all of hoop-crazy nyc a big cavs color blob the last few years, since the knicks stink and there is crazy lebron-mania out here.

now the steelers just have to beat the highpowered lions offense!

Go Stillers!!

Any thoughts on the rumored front office shake up?  I personally hope that things simmer down and the front office stays intact.  You can't build a successful organization with as much turnover as the Brownies have had since returning in '99.

Savage stayed, Collins got forced out.  At least the talking heads sounded pleased when I was up there.

When I heard that Savage was going to leave and Collins was going to stay, I felt like we were taking a giant step backward.  The final scenario is a win-win the Browns organization.
