Not sure if TV showed the National Anthem. It was quite a sight.

Guardians it is! The font and logo either need some tweaking, or will take a while to grow on me, but the name is a winner.

There were other good options, but I've always though this was the way to go. I'm happy its over. Let's move past it. I'm here for Baseball, and I'm here for Cleveland.

Shocking to see Clase allow a 3-run homer. They hit our best pitcher. We couldn't hit theirs.

ying yang sleepy hitting as usual — that was rough — ugh.

my consolation so far is at least the yankees are losing. 😂

Ugh. Another 3-0 shutout and we’re down 2-1 in the series now.  I haven’t even watched the game yet (DVR for later) but it sounds like I’m not missing much.

In 1997, the Indians were down 2 games to 1 vs. the Yankees and won the next 2 games to win the series. So perhaps it will be deja vu all over again. Of course, they will need to find a way to score some runs.

We have not won an elimination game since that Yankee series in 97.

Fast-forward to 2024😀

My god, that game aged everyone 5 years.

YES!!!!!!!!!

Beat the Yanks in the ALCS and potentially the Mets in the WS and own NY forever….Saturday afternoon daydreaming😁

Great atmosphere in the stadium today and a really solid performance from the guys. The Tigers and Skubal simply ran out of steam. NGL - 6 weeks ago I was done with Lane Thomas and Brayan Rocchio, but they’ve both been stellar so far this post season. Biggest shout out to Steven Kwan though, who was an absolute monster this series.

Maybe we can get help from a swarm of midges to beat the Yankees.

We can only hope...but I am sure the broadcasters will replay the midge invasion of that magical night several times. Thank you for the memory jog.

Most likely but what an unexpected year. Guardians with the 28th payroll in the big dance playing with the top three teams in payroll. 3 game win streak can still happen. Kudos either way. We can  be disappointed if the season ends with this series - but not mad - especially in comparison with Jimmy boy’s sabotage operation of the Browns. How can it not be intentional- if was just Jimmy and Dee - but would the entire Haslam Sports Group play along to be ridiculed as incompetent unless there was an end game in play (e.g., multi-front scheme to trigger move of franchise to glamour market or C-bus)?

I still believe.   The Guards GAVE the Yankees several runs as a result of their young-team jitters.  Last night we left bases loaded multiple times.    As this series grinds on, I can see the learning curve flattening and giving the Yankees a run for their money.

The saddest thing will be the Friday and Saturday games, which are likely to turn into almost Yankee home games with all their fans traveling to the Land....

^ yes — they got a lot of walks last night — i had guessed the bats would totally freeze, but not so at least they are hitting a bit, 6 hits and 8 hits, just a few less than the yanks, but also a couple less juicy hr potaters. 😂

Must get hyped

I started about 45 mins ago when I knocked off work early.
For the Tigers decider last Saturday, the Clevelander’s patio was half full at 9.30am.

All right Manzardo!!

...whoever the hell you are.

WHITE RUM IS THE KEY!!!!!! YAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!

That game was epic.

What a game and what a comeback from the dead. The ballpark went from raucous, to almost silent, to mayhem. Hopefully this is the spark that gets the bats going.
Boy, we literally emptied the bullpen tonight though. We still desperately need some length from the starters these next two games. With Williams making his post-season debut tomorrow, that might be a big ask…

Do not be surprised if he’s the starting first baseman next season. I think Josh Naylor’s time is running out.

Unbelievable.  I shut the game off in the top of the 9th, but my daughter asked me to turn it back on shortly after, so I did.  There were 2 outs and nobody on and I told her there was no point, we were going to lose.  She said we should watch anyway.  I guess I need to talk smack more often.

thats it, i’m dubbing the young guardians the GYATIANS.

I’m doing my part and drinking already! 🍻

Clase is reminding me of Andrew Miller's situation in 2016.  During the regular season he was filthier than an unshowered carny on a three day meth binge (paraphrasing my brother's lead singer at the time) in the series not so much.  Tito may have been the GOAT but it looked like he wore him out.

Vogt was putting Class in with a seven run lead late in the season to keep him working.

Same happened to Luke Weaver of course, and Holmes earlier in the season.

Josh Naylor has never drawn a walk in a postseason with the Guardians. That spans three different years.

Someone on the radio this morning referred to them as the "Guardiac Kids!"

Let's take a look at Gavin's statistics...

Jesus, how did this team win over 90 games???

And now Gill...

Christ, I better start early again.

Aaron Boone is now on my sh!t list.

If the Guardians would stop hitting .005* with RISP they might be up 2-1.

*Only slight exaggeration.

However, is Big Christmas not the best nickname ever!

Someone put in Sizemore or Haffner!!!

There have been too many  Guardians/Indians pitchers now, going back decades, who are the best pitchers on the team and choke in the playoffs. Starting with Jose Mesa 97, CC Sabathia 2007, I believe Kluber had some bad playoff outings, and now we have Clase blowing it. You simply can’t expect any more from the rest of the team in this situation tonight coming back from being down by 4.

Kluber in 17 and 18 but not 16. He had a sub 2 era on 6 starts and was a main reason why we made the World Series. Playoffs are just a different animal.

Guardians need to get a stud pitcher. But it is unlikely Dolan will pay the price. They will instead try to catch lightning in a bottle with young pitchers from the farm system.

Not sure what Bieber is going to do. He has been collecting a paycheck from the Guardians for the last two season while pitching very little. It would be a nice gesture if he signed a short contract with the Guardians.

"Best bullpen in baseball" has been a no show this series.

Everyone was giving me their condolences this morning like someone died 😳 I grew up on herb score. I listened to every Indians game on my transistor radio with a single ear bud. I’m really proud of this team.

Nearly every Yankee and Tiger fan I interacted with at the 6 games I attended complimented Cleveland on the ball park.  And it's only going to get better.  The standing zones with hightops are definitely a hit.

Opening of the new Terrace Club should increase capacity slightly.

Right field upper deck looks better, although I'm not sure I like the open space below the roof.  Perhaps they could put up some banners with names of some of the HOF players - Feller, Boudreau, etc.
