October 4, 200717 yr I noticed last night the Terminal Tower had its lights on - red. The top of the towers on Jacobs Field were also lit up - red. That's the first time I ever saw that.
October 4, 200717 yr So I was walking along Prospect last night, headed to Tower City to catch the Rapid, and who walked past me??? A-Rod and a group of people (probably his body guards)! gay-rod in the cleve = baah! today's news is that c-rod just announced they are having a baby -- so maybe that will distract him? best quote quote on that: "My guess: as soon as she saw he was cheating, she got knocked up so that he sticks around." hahaha! here's the link: http://gothamist.com/2007/10/04/arods_baby_derb.php#comments
October 4, 200717 yr here are mega overkill articles and all the info and crap you would ever want to know about the series from the ny daily news. predictably all their people picked the yankees to win in 3 or 4 :whip: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/index.html yeah so i will be wearing my tribe caps in the bronx this week for sure! Wow, thanks for posting that Daily News stuff. Some pretty laughable content in the position by position comparison. The ace "scout" they quote is probably the guy who convinced the Yankees to pay a $26M posting fee for Kei Igawa .

October 4, 200717 yr Can't remember how I got to it, but it should be here: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/2007/10/03/2007-10-03_the_matchups_yankees_vs_indians.html The scout thinks Melky v. Grady is "almost a coin toss" and talks about Posada's defensive edge over Victor. I think Posada led all AL catchers in SBs allowed (over a hundred) and threw out less than 30% of attempts. I of course expected the whole thing to be less than objective, but I didn't expect to be just goofy crackpot stuff. Then again, I don't really read the Daily News so much, so maybe I should have expected this.

I don't want to out anyone, I don't think his was ever upset he was with a woman. I think she caught him with a dude.
October 4, 200717 yr Yeah Kenny! Forty-something guys rule! (spoken from the other end of the 40ish age bracket) Getting caught in a pickle between 2nd and 3rd was...not so good.
October 5, 200717 yr Indians hit 4 homers, crush Yanks 12-3 By TOM WITHERS, AP Sports Writer Rocked right off the bat, the Cleveland Indians quickly found their October swing. C.C. Sabathia settled down after giving up a debated homer on his fifth pitch and the Indians returned to the postseason after a six-year disappearance by thumping the New York Yankees 12-3 in their AL playoff opener. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071005/ap_on_sp_ba_ga_su/bba_yankees_indians
October 5, 200717 yr A few of them even turned on Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James Benedict Arnold, a devoted New York fan who boldly came to Jacobs Field wearing a Yankees cap. Early on, fans sitting near James behind home plate chanted "Take off the cap," in his direction, and by the sixth inning, he had done just that.
October 5, 200717 yr Destroying the Yanks is TOO SWEET. One game at a time and, this year, may be THAT year. Unlike those powerful 90s teams, we've now got the pitchers John Hart could never find... Let's give it to LeBron, but keep it friendly. He's obviously a huge part of the good times for Cleve Sports -- yeah, I'd tone it down if I were him but let's not go off the deep end.
October 5, 200717 yr Yeah Kenny! Forty-something guys rule! (spoken from the other end of the 40ish age bracket) Getting caught in a pickle between 2nd and 3rd was...not so good. Yes we do! OKAY! Why are you all hating on Lebron? That is such BS. Just because he is a "celeb" and grew up in NEO doesn't mean his obligated to be a Indians fan. Geez! I thought that chanting sucked and the panning on him with his hat backwards was whack. Well atleast the broadcast was complimentary of the city. thanks to a few notes.
October 5, 200717 yr Why are you all hating on Lebron? That is such BS. Just because he is a "celeb" and grew up in NEO doesn't mean his obligated to be a Indians fan. Geez! No, he's not, but since he's currently THE face of Cleveland sports, he should have come with no hat at all. It just reflects poorly on our city.

No, he's not, but since he's currently THE face of Cleveland sports, he should have come with no hat at all. It just reflects poorly on our city. Thats Bullshit! The man has his own personal preferences. There is a line between LeBron the person and LeBron the "brand" and people need to respect that.
October 5, 200717 yr Thats Bullsh!t! Hey, thanks a lot. I appreciate your respectful disagreement.
October 5, 200717 yr Thats Bullsh!t! Hey, thanks a lot. I appreciate your respectful disagreement. Anytime.
October 5, 200717 yr Lets not focus too much on LeBron (GO INDIANS!) but he's free to support whatever team he likes. My problem is he didn't need to wear the hat in the face of the fans that support him. But anyway, wow what a game!
October 5, 200717 yr "Thats Bullsh!t! The man has his own personal preferences. There is a line between LeBron the person and LeBron the "brand" and people need to respect that." No, it was in extremely poor taste - and there is no line between MayDay the person and MayDay the Admin and HBIC so you need to respect that. :whip: clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
October 5, 200717 yr Cleveland, what's up with this?! ... So the wifey is a huge Yankees fan (from upstate NY) and she's been playing around with the idea of going to a playoff game. Well, I know game 1-3 happens to be in Cleveland so, I'll "just see" how much tickets are out of curiosity (assuming it would be too ridiculous and we'd both be taking off of work anyway). Plus, Cleveland's not far at all for a weekend... I open up a few eBay auctions for 2 tix for Friday and just let them end to keep an eye on pricing ... $125 for 2 tix, sec 103 for a PLAYOFF GAME!? ... Why are these tickets so low? This is crazy! http://cgi.ebay.com/Cleveland-Indians-ALDS-Home-Game-2-Date-May-Change_W0QQitemZ160163677017QQihZ006QQcategoryZ16122QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Here are 2 for sec 185 for $132 ... http://cgi.ebay.com/Cleveland-Indians-v-NY-Yankees-ALDS-Game-2-10-5-07_W0QQitemZ180165795777QQihZ008QQcategoryZ16122QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I'm kicking myself for not getting in on some of those low price tickets...that is definitely an anomaly.

I thought that chanting sucked and the panning on him with his hat backwards was whack. Well atleast the broadcast was complimentary of the city. thanks to a few notes. You are way too soft. The issue isn't him being a Yankee fan, it's rubbing it in his fans' faces by going to the game with that hat on knowing the camera was going to be on him. Anyhoo, the best irony would be if the Indians brought home a championship, something Lebron wasn't quite good enough to bring home...
October 5, 200717 yr ^ dude, riviera is out and puffys in tribeca is in for tonights game in enemy territory. get this, i'll be there with my pal and i hear about a dozen other ex-clevelander pratt mfa students - ha!
October 5, 200717 yr Can you imagine if Tom Brady showed up for a Red Sox game with a Yankee's hat on... Anywho...GO TRIBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh man, I would love to see a game with some other Tribe fans. I had to make do with Yankee haters has my allies last night, but that's not quite the same. If I can make it down to Tribeca at a decent hour, I'm there.
October 5, 200717 yr I recall that LeBron was all sweet and sentimental that he was fulfilling his lifelong dream to play for his hometown team when he signed with the Cavs. Now this. I hope he is not getting restless in his current job and looking for more excitement somewhere else. But enough about the basketball player. Having slept on it, my hunch right now is that the Yankees gotta be nervous now after having seen the Indians hitters handle their bullpen. The line going in was that the Yankees had the bats. Well, so do we. Our hitters made the best of their bullpen throw a lot of pitches last night. And they have to face them again tonight in the lee of the Lac du Cat. Ninety minutes to game time. Go Tribe!
October 5, 200717 yr I get nervous when you run the score up on the Yankees. But I believe Tribe will pull it out tonight 4-2.
October 5, 200717 yr Carmona becomes a (sports)household name tonight. I think you could be on to something here.
October 6, 200717 yr There was something in the lee of the Lake. Mayflies! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mayfly
October 6, 200717 yr Those were NOT mayflies! BUT WE WON!!!!!!!!!    clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
October 6, 200717 yr What a game & Downtown Cleveland sunset at the beginning of the 6th inning... Priceless.
October 6, 200717 yr Cincy-Rise how'd the wife like that game?!? Hope you guys made it to Cleve-O today.
October 6, 200717 yr posted on wiki two minutes after the game. funniest. thing ever. Gnat From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia • Learn more about citing Wikipedia •Jump to: navigation, search For other uses, see Gnat (disambiguation). The term gnat is applied as a colloquial name to any of various small insects in the order Diptera and specifically within the suborder Nematocera. This suborder represents the more primitive members of the Dipteran order but still contains several very notable and important families such as the Chironomidae (non-biting midges) and the Culicidae (mosquitoes). Other families include the Tipulidae (crane flies), Bibionidae (hairflies), Ceratopogonidae (biting midges), Cecidomyiidae (gall midges), Simuliidae (black flies), and others. The males often assemble together in large mating swarms. Gnat larvae are mostly free-living. Many feed on plants, though some are carnivorous. Larval plant feeders, e.g. the Hessian fly larvae, cause root, stem, and leaf galls to be formed by the host plant. Some species of fungus gnats (families Mycetophilidae and Sciaridae) are very common pests of mushrooms and roots of potted plants in homes and greenhouses. Some South American Pleurothallid orchids are pollinated by tiny gnats and have correspondingly small flowers. Gnats had a major effect on the 2007 American League Division Series Game Between the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Indians on October 5th, 2007. During the 8th Inning when Joba Chamberlain was pitching, the playing surface at Jacobs Field became infested with thousands of Gnats. They swarmed Chamberlain as he attempted to pitch and resulted in a number of uncharacteristic wild pitches. Chamberlain had been completely dominant during the regular season, only allowing 1 Earned Run during his 24 Innings pitched. However, Indians' starting pitcher Fausto Carmona, and the rest of the Cleveland Indians' pitching staff, kept their cool and didn't allow another run even with the "gnat factor", leading some to believe if the gnats really had an effect on the game or if it was just another line of excuses from the many Yankees fans for their team's recent post season squabbles. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gnat sorry torre even lysol does not make the yankees stink any less
October 6, 200717 yr Indians swat Yanks 2-1 to take 2-0 lead By TOM WITHERS, AP Sports Writer Swat! Take that, New York Yankees. Helped by a freakish invasion of bombarding bugs that rattled rookie reliever Joba Chamberlain in the eighth inning, the Cleveland Indians rallied to beat the Yankees 2-1 in 11 innings Friday night to take a 2-0 lead in their AL playoff series. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071006/ap_on_sp_ba_ga_su/bba_yankees_indians
October 6, 200717 yr ^^ Those little bastards are good for something!!! Well, they were on both team's pitchers! lol ... Way to go tonight, Cleve!
October 6, 200717 yr What a cliffhanger tonight! Good to see the Tribe finally put it away after leaving so many players in scoring position throughout the game.
October 6, 200717 yr needless to say i could not wait to see the ny press today - lol! here ya go:

Anyhoo, the best irony would be if the Indians brought home a championship, something Lebron wasn't quite good enough to bring home... I must apologize to the above. I had the opportunity, to review media of Thursdays game. There were some things I NOW see and agree with earlier statements about Bron Bron wearing taunting nearby fans and pandering to the camera. I still think he can be a fan of whatever team he chooses and has the "right" to wear the hat when and wear he chooses. What he did during the game was definitely not cool and think if he had not worn the hat, there would not be the media coverage we're seeing. Now, his "media" team and the cavs must deal with the after affects.
October 7, 200717 yr needless to say i could not wait to see the ny press today - lol! here ya go:  Gnats and No Bats! -- Gotta love those tabloid headlines. This is great having someone photograph newspaper boxes in NYC -- Now back to El Porno
