May 15, 201114 yr I can't complain. I'm watching a perfect game being pitched right now. ;-) "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
May 15, 201114 yr I haven't been really keeping up with the Indians, but I do know they are getting off to a really good start this year, and they're looking like pretty strong contenders. Hopefully it can carry over into the playoffs. It would be great to see an Indians/Reds World Series, although I know that is highly unlikely.
May 16, 201114 yr Of course we would get two straight rainouts after Friday night's nearly packed stadium and momentum-building win. Well, back on the road to KC where it would be nice to bury the Royals in the standings a bit.
May 16, 201114 yr Of course we would get two straight rainouts after Friday night's nearly packed stadium and momentum-building win. Yeah, but we got a sweep out of it! :)
May 16, 201114 yr Of course we would get two straight rainouts after Friday night's nearly packed stadium and momentum-building win. Yeah, but we got a sweep out of it! :) This team could use a sweep right about now! Just what I was hoping for!
May 16, 201114 yr Just to get people back in the mood for Indians baseball... this perspective of Hafner's Friday night walk-off is awesome: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/14685842#utm_campaign=twitter.com&utm_source=14685842&utm_medium=social
May 17, 201114 yr That was one hell of a 4th inning. However, the way Hafner was running the bases I don't think we'll be seeing him for the remainder of the night at the very least. Edit: Well scratch that, apparently he's fine and was just taking his good ole time.
May 17, 201114 yr There is something special going on with this team, and although I'm not really big into believing in supernatural phenomena, I'd really like to believe that Bob Feller has something to do with it...
May 17, 201114 yr That was fun! "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
May 17, 201114 yr ^Ha! I've been counting down all afternoon too. I love me some winning baseball. Way more fun then reading minor league box scores for signs of future hope like I resorted to last year :)
May 18, 201114 yr There is something special going on with this team, and although I'm not really big into believing in supernatural phenomena, I'd really like to believe that Bob Feller has something to do with it... And Steinbrenner, when you promise your soul for championship rings, everything snaps back to reality when you die :P
May 18, 201114 yr Haffner this year! Gotta be comeback player of the year material. Brantley possibly frontrunner for rookie of the year. Masterson and tomlin certainly cy young candidates.
May 19, 201114 yr Damn. 1-0. Damn. 26 runs in the last two days and all we needed was two tonight. Damn. EDIT: the bright side is Detroit lost too -- also by 1-0! "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
May 20, 201114 yr *grumble* fricking Chicago *grumble* But hey, just watch this a dozen or so times to feel better. http://atmlb.com/k7yoYK
May 20, 201114 yr This Saturday's game is a sellout!!! Woo Hoo!! http://www.cleveland.com/tribe/index.ssf/2011/05/indians_sell_out_saturdays_gam.html Let's hope Friday and Sunday are close to sellouts also!! Go tribe!!
May 20, 201114 yr ^Whoa...so much for taking my out of town friends to Saturday's game...I'm too slow!
May 20, 201114 yr There are still some (very limited) tickets available on Ticketmaster, but I believe they're all over $70.
May 21, 201114 yr Tickets for Sunday are going pretty quick also, from the few sites I looked at it's down to moderately expensive tickets along the baselines. GO TRIBE :)
May 21, 201114 yr Tomlin is possibly the cy young frontrunner right now. Great crowd today, very 90s feel
May 22, 201114 yr ^Nice Hammy impression! This injury bug is getting out of hand. Alex White out 8-12 weeks is not cool. Thank goodness for our org depth.
May 22, 201114 yr ^anyone else think hagadone has a chance to see bigs this year? He was promoted to AAA the other day
May 22, 201114 yr ^Could be, assuming he performs there. The other wild card is Adam Miller, which would be an amazing story. He's been lights out in single A after his first outing and I'd guess the front office will be eager to push him up the system if continues to pitch well.
May 23, 201114 yr What an awesome weekend series! This team, right now, is super exciting. Nice to see the stands filling up at Progressive Field. Go Tribe!!
May 23, 201114 yr Not a big baseball fan (football and basketball for me) but I always love when a Cleveland team is doing well. Downtown was doing pretty well for a Sunday afternoon. Passed through on my transfer from the redline to the healthline heading out to Hessler street fair and saw tons of people wondering around, eating on E4th, inside tower city. Good teams = an alive and well city.
May 23, 201114 yr Yeah So What? Can't we enjoy the moment? CHRWISSTTT!!!! Some great Boston pitching coming up.
May 23, 201114 yr Boston will be out for blood after we swept them last month. If we want to have a prayer of 2/3 we have to win tonight. OUr ace verses their weakest of the 3 they throw at us. Promise no indians fans will jump off a bridge if we get swept...at some point the injury bug will cost some wins...against a team like Boston, you cant make any mistakes
May 23, 201114 yr we got a large screen at the riviera sports bar in ny and the battle of ohio worked out pretty well this time -- not bad especially considering our guys with the big bats were out with injuries!
May 23, 201114 yr ^^Oh man, I wish you luck at the Riviera over the next couple days if you go. Not sure I'd have the stomach to be around all those Boston fans. Boston will be out for blood after we swept them last month. If we want to have a prayer of 2/3 we have to win tonight. OUr ace verses their weakest of the 3 they throw at us. Promise no indians fans will jump off a bridge if we get swept...at some point the injury bug will cost some wins...against a team like Boston, you cant make any mistakes Well said. I'm entering this series with low expectations given the pitching match-ups and our line-up limitations, but shall not forget that even if swept we'll still be first with a sizable lead :)
May 23, 201114 yr ^ yeah right next to the tv screen was a giant sized front page of the celtics hoisting their nba champs trophy -- that was already an aggravating distraction to the tribe game!
May 23, 201114 yr ^Half mast??? I believe they make a pill for that. Attendance is starting to look good as well! It was a blast yesterday, and hopefully I'm going again tonight!
