So it's looking like definite rain and possible thunderstorms in Cleveland Wednesday night... if Game 2 were to be postponed, does anyone know what the reschedule would look like? Given that its the World Series I imagine they wouldn't play your average makeup during the day....

Guardians it is! The font and logo either need some tweaking, or will take a while to grow on me, but the name is a winner.

There were other good options, but I've always though this was the way to go. I'm happy its over. Let's move past it. I'm here for Baseball, and I'm here for Cleveland.

i would seriously doubt europe or anywhere outside of the carribean and japan even knows what baseball is much less cares.

and the usa is far from myopic. for example, i can get scores and news for my argentine league boca juniors on my espn sports app. its constantly updated, which is far more expansive coverage than one article in one newspaper in england.

In exchange for #BillBelichick, #Cleveland received #TitoFrancona, #TyronnLue, and #AndrewMiller from #Boston.

YES!!!!

... just 3 more to go.

... and Jonathan Lucroy? ... Hope he's watching Roberto Perez star for the Indians in the World Series on television...

(yep, this is what media in civilized countries do, they have a world view!)...

And in a nation of 60 million they just might want to attract clicks in a nation of 300 million.    :)

And yet continental Europe's 300 million is just 25 miles away... Still, my Ukrainian wife and our German friend said they never felt so isolated from world news until they moved to the USA. Even my wife's brother in Ukraine heard on the Ukrainian news about the Cavs winning the championship. I'm curious if the Indians' championship will also be reported on their news? ;)

I disagree. Baseball is big business in Korea, Taiwan & the Philippines.  Many Central and South American countries are huge baseball meccas in addition to Mexico & Canada.

From a professional standpoint, we partner with many Japanese, Korean, Nicauraguan, Panamanian, Belize & Hondorian partners.  They are quickly catching up with Cuba, DR and PR in terms of baseball.  In Italy, where Futbol and Volleyball out pace any other sport by a WIDE margin, baseball has gain.  In Spain & Australia baseball has grown as Basketball did in the late 90s/Early 2000s.

So in terms of eyeballs, this is great international coverage for Cleveland.  We're the humble underdogs...and everyone loves a underdog.

Hopefully in 2017 and beyond the city, county and state can use this to target leisure travelers to our city and help develop the city & regions travel industry and travel & convention related services.

Keeping Kluber under 90 pitches was a major plus.  He can now hope to start games 4 and 7 (if necessary).

What a great win. What a great night for Cleveland. We watched the ring ceremony on TNT and then straight into the WS where we score in the 1st. I wish I could have gone, but my kids have to go to college someday...

The 7th and 8th were nerve wracking as all get out. Miller's legend grows by escaping that mess. It does appear the cubs  decision to sit on Millers pitches and hopefully influence the umps that the fringe pitches were balls, was somewhat successful. He still pulled it off though. And Perez, what else can be said about him, besides he's a baller. He has been great behind the plate all playoffs and you can't come up any bigger that two HR in your first World Series game.

Lindor. Wow.

The best part of this Series is both of these teams have great managers and are loaded with young talent that is locked down contractually for the next few years. Who knows, they could meet again next year.

Go Tribe.

Go Tribe.

Perez has just been another brilliant surprise for these guys!

Downtown was so fun last night.

I hope the rain stays away as I'm going to the World Series tonight. Love those free tickets. ;)

I'll offer you $400 KJP haha

I'll offer you $400 KJP haha

If I accepted it, I would get a family member fired. And I'd love to share a photo of this family member holding the AL Championship trophy, standing next to Paul Dolan. But that would probably get this person fired too.

Well if selling the tickets will get said person fired, can't you just TAKE me to the game and I WON'T pay you!!  haha

Sorry, but I invited a friend of 30 years who is a baseball fanatic and who learned baseball from his mother who died when he was young. She grew to love baseball by going to the 1948 World Series when she was a teenager. I knew how much he wants to go to a World Series game at least once in his life.

Bauer is so damn inconsistent.  I really hope Tito pitches Merritt/Salazar in Game 5.  I can't handle Bauer anymore.

The offense right now is basically Lindor, Ramirez, and Perez.  Everyone else is in a slump.  Kipnis is 2 for his last 32 and now apparently has fielding problems.

Hopefully Tomlin can go 5 on Friday.  Bullpen wasn't much help last night but then again, it wouldn't have mattered with Arrietta dealing.

I'm actually not worried about the loss.

-- Arrieta is their #2 and some would argue their ace. Bauer is a #5 at best.

-- Indians had an uncharacteristic two error game and played about as sloppy as your can get.

-- Middle relief had about as bad a game as you can have.

-- Cubs again stranded tons and tons of players on base.

Despite all this the Indians had the game in reach the entire time. Cubs should have won that game by 10, maybe more. The Dodgers or Giants would have let that game get out of control.  The run differential for this series is still Indians +2.

I know what Kyle can do at Wrigley but Tomlin is not mince-meat either. Tomlin's season ERA is very deceptive.

Let's hope they can turn the tide on Friday.

Thanks for the BrightandSunny response to DarkandStormy.

YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you ever wanted to know what a 4 hour long heart attack feels like...

.... ahhhh.  I can breathe again.

Gritty, classic win by the Indians!  Awesome!

BTW, it should be illegal for Indians fans to sell their World Series tickets to Cubs fans for Game 6 (and/or 7) next week...

yeah, yeah -  I know it's their first time since 1945 and Chicago is only 5 hours away -  but it was very disappointing  to see all those Cubs fans in Progressive Field in games 1 and 2.  Come on CLE!

i admit when napoli almost tony fernandez'd that ball i panicked, but just for a moment, until the camera showed allen's no ef's given game face. then i knew it was a stone cold lock.

Boy I sure am hyped for the Browns tomorrow???

Progressive tonight.

I am praying for the Tribe to close out tonight in Wrigley.  I fear too much "Cleveland Kharma" with a Cubs comeback to make up for the Cavs amazing feat!

Cleburger[/member]  Don't even put that energy out in the Universe!  I was just thinking, hopefully the Browns will lose so the Indians can win!  At this point in the season, I'll take a Browns loss for an Indians win.

Just go in, fight, get the "W".  Would I like to win it all, at home, in Cleveland?  Hell yes.  But as the pitchers have said, "win now and do not take your foot off the gas!".  They have a killer/finisher mentality and they need to execute tonight.  I'll gladly take a win at Wrigley, TONIGHT, and a parade in Cleveland, LATER IN THE WEEK!

End it now.

and we got perhaps the best sports photo of all time out of this  8-)

edit: i see there are many great angles of this scene by various photographers, but this is clearly thee one. so i found the photographers name for posterity --> (AP Photo/Charles Rex Arbogast)

I would love for them to win at home but yes end it tonight please!

I'd say the odds are against a Tribe win tonight. I hope Bauer can pitch, but I'm afraid that tonight's game is just gong to exhaust the bullpen. Of course I hope I'm 100% wrong!!! But I'm an expert sportsologist who is generally right about such things.

Anyhow I'm taking a nap now so I can stay up and watch at a local bar. Walking distance....no driving for me tonight!

GO TRIBE!

Tribe has to wrap it up tonight.  Arrieta probably starting in game 6 and we do not want to face him again.  Francona will have a real short leash on Bauer tonight, then Salazar and I bet we see Miller come in for a bit also

^Leash wasn't short enough.  One bad inning did us in.  Try again tomorrow!

Don't know why Tito trusted Bauer in the first place.  Dude can't handle the stage mentally this postseason.  I was saying they should go Merritt/Salazar then let the bullpen take over.  A few pitches cost the team just enough runs.

Another pitching duel could be on tap tomorrow with Tomlin and Arrietta.  Hopefully they close it out because I don't know if I (or anyone in the state of Ohio) could handle a game 7.

If it does go to Game 7, we might see the highest TV ratings for a baseball game in 20+ years.

Agreed.  I know Tito lacks a lot of options, but Bauer has been consistently inconsistent recently including the postseason, where he's been a total failure; he's a head case and a headache... Ironically Bauer did the team a favor by injuring himself and bleeding out of Game 5 in Toronto and allowing young Ryan Merrit to lead us to a closeout victory.  Had a healthy Bauer pitched, he likely, as usual, would have imploded and we would have had to go to at least a Game 6 to win.

I think the Bauer start has been the only misstep for Tito who, quite obviously has been beyond stellar.  Let's hope Game 5, especially the disastrous 4th inning, won't come back to bite us in the butt.

I actually like Bauer. But whether you like him or not, he's not the reason we lost last night. We lost because we only managed to score two runs. That's just not going to cut it.

Arrieta scares me.  Dude is like the Terminator.

Umps make bad calls, but that called third strike on Guyer was a crime.  It wasn't even close.

I don't like Bauer against a team like the Cubs because he doesn't keep the ball down.  In fact, he relies on the high heater, which power hitting teams eat alive.
