I just want to see if this site is an addiction to some.  Even though sometimes you folks make me go  :drunk: and I want to go  :shoot: but I don't...because that would be bad , I love you all!

NOW VOTE!

A day without UO is like a day without breathing... ;)

And I am your heir...errr...air! ;)

Should someone start an UrbanOhio Anonymous??  If so, I think Rob should be the moderator.

My two internet addictions are this site and Bejeweled Blitz on Facebook (one minute... Good! Excellent! AWESOME!)...

I'm not addicted, but I usually do visit daily.

That's what they call a state of denial.

I come here daily, but it doesn't give the high that it used to.  Not a lot of fun project updates in Columbus going on.

Thank the recession!

"Nah, I barely even look at this place!"

I would say yes.  My last job allowed for me to be on all day a la MTS, but now I can only find a few minutes here or there, and made me go through UO withdrawal

I had to retire to give it the proper attention!

I've spent 130 days of my life on here; what do you think?

I'm not addicted. I just walk a fine  line between addiction and dependency!

It can be if you let it...especially if you work from home like me and have it so easy to pop on and off at any time...or just have it on while working. But, there is no more really good talk radio on the mainstream airwaves in N.E. Ohio, so this is kind of a replacement......besides, I do not watch tv (rarely)

Happily renewing my addiction.

I've been on a lot the past few days. It's a nice site especially when it's put to constructive ends...

:drunk:

I'm not addicted, I could quit if I wanted to, I just don't want to ... oh wait ... Dang.

The G1 I bought a couple months ago has, for better or worse, been an "enabler"

When I first joined UrbanOhio, I was definitely addicted to it. At that time, it had just recently expanded from a Cincinnati Website to an all Ohio one. It was small, I recognized every member, and I remember when one of us older members chided the new whippersnapper "Inkaelin" for chiming in on every thread.  I'm glad you weren't chased away, Ink.

Nowadays, I check most Cleveland threads, other threads that pique my interest, anything by Jeffery (and now also anything on Dayton, a city I am fascinated with because of UO), anything by Rob, Mayday, Ink, or Zachariah da man.

My interest peaked around the time we came up with our own UO City in Pomeroy County -- what was it called again?

I still check UO every few days, and look forward to meeting some of you guys when I ever get back to my native state. (I am a Third Generation native of Ohio City, on Cleveland's fabulous West Side ...) Conover Court is an alley in Cleveland that runs parallel to Madison near my mother's childhood home.

Wow. I used to feel bad that I spent over a week of my life on this website, any website as  a matter of fact ...

I checked UO while in Warsaw, Poland last week while trying to woo a Russian girl -- now what do you think? ? ? ?

Wasn't it "Riverton"?  I just remember it getting erased from Wikipedia for being what they said is "blatant and meaningless nonsense" or something similar.

It's the reason I'm back in school pursuing a new career.

Rivage, no?

Rivage, yes!

BTW, after a search, I couldn't find the original Rivage thread, but I found nostalgic posts regarding Rivage from waybackin 2006.  UO is developing a history, folks.  And legends!

They did hate me. Oddly, I have outlasted most.

Call me an addict!  I'm on here EVERYDAY, dammit!

The only visible remnant of Rivage, City Hall has been ravaged by scrappers.

I think the fact we're replying to this thread means we're all pretty addicted.  I do agree though - it's so much more fun when there's fun things being built that can be photographed!

Not so much anymore. It probably was a couple years ago.

Ummm, 10 o'clock on a Friday night what does that say? Although I have to agree with the earlier poster who said the buzz isn't quite the same now that most of the projects have been scaled back or on hold. When Cleveland had the FEB, Euclid corridor, Stark's Pescht project, etc all going on at the same time. It was like a little high every time we got a new morsel of information....

Yes...it's odd b/c I love Cleveland and love urban living, yet generally disagree with most opinions on the site...

I am getting too fond of this thing.

Then you should be the loudest one. Too many hippie liberals "progressives" on this site. :shoot:

Wonder what ever happened to the poster Summit Street who photographed all the Ohio courthouses?  I liken this site to my morning coffee.

The most addicting part of UO are the photo forums.  I LOVE seeing photos taken in and around Cincinnati.  But even then, I go through phases where I'm logging in everyday to ones where I haven't logged in in months.

  • 2 months later...

Id say addicting.  I wen thru UO withdrawl but luckily I had other diversions.

Hopefully not coffee!

Actually I fell waaaaaaaaaaaaayy off the wagon.  I needed to be alert and plot and I do that best in the weeeeee hours of the morning.

You can't very well coordinate and organize having 16 large furniture movers with two large trucks, come to a house you own at 6 AM and uninstall all the fixtures and pack-up all the furniture and belongs you own and move them to another location if you not on your toes!

If I am bored/free I reply to things I normally would not, as I have been the past two months or so I bet my post/day rate has sky rocketed.  I have gone a few months and not checked UO though.

I spend 'way too much time here. I need another, more absorbing hobby, maybe like porn.

Sometimes an item pushes one of my buttons and I type a long, detailed response describing how I feel about that, and why I feel that way. Then, I preview it, read it, fine-tune it, read it again, and then cancel the whole thing ...

Unless it's late at night and/or I've had a couple of drinks. Then, I just might click the "Post" button.

  • 3 weeks later...

Definately addicted.  I check this site more then any others. haha
