July 3, 201212 yr You know something, this project (the Velodrome) and the huge greenhouse/urban gardens development on Kinsman just east of East 55th (taken by jjames0408: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jjames0408/7305348730/#) are some of the most exciting developments on the east side, IMHO. Ironically, they aren't very substantial physically. They aren't made of reinforced concrete, steel girders or even wood-framed brick structures. But are they substantial in terms of their scale and their ability to draw more visitors, attention and investment to their surrounding areas.
