Dayt-in

I can't remember what that thing is called when you say but dont say the T in a word like Dayton. I think it's a glottal stop?

Day-ton when I say "I'm from Dayton."  But Day-tin when I say Dayton Daily News.

I have only ever heard one person in my entire life actually pronounce the T in Dayton, instead of the glottal stop. And it sounded weird.

I'll vote Day-'in, but it's more like Day'n.

It's never come up.

I chose "other," but I say "Dayt'n" similar to "Cant'n."  So, maybe I should have chosen "Day-'in (like "Hatin'!")?"

I call it Hell, unless I am at the airport leaving, in Kettering, or having a pizza at Marion's or a beer at South Park Tavern.

lol

Seriously, I just realized we even have an area code overlap that's pretty odd... all of greater Cincy: 513 ... all of greater Dayton,: 937 ...

You go from 937 to 513 to 937 again at I believe, Manchester?

Love too! In my rear view mirror...  :-P

"pain in my ass between Cincinnati and Detroit"

Being from Michigan most people accuse me of dropping interior "t" sounds...so, i sort of say it like "date-in" but without much emphasis on the T...more so than in "Day-in"  but not a lot.

I say Datin, as in "datin' a girl from Eaton, or Eatin' a girl from Dayton"  - oldie but a goodie

Also, remember 937 is relatively new, we were all 513 for a long time!

It's Day'-n (with a semi-silent T where the apostrophe is).

Same goes for neighboring Clayton and Eaton.

What's with you guys down there?! haha

It's okay, though.  We have Groton Township.  [Gro-'in] :)
