Posted February 18, 201015 yr Chinatown has always been one of my favorite neighborhoods in New York. The whole neighborhood is a sensory overload; a little slice of Hong Kong transplanted to Manhattan. I was enrolled in the summer architecture studio at Columbia University in the summer of 2007, and our final project involved a site in this neighborhood. These photos were taken during a visit to the site.
February 18, 201015 yr There's still a pocket of Little Italy along a couple blocks north of Canal Street, but it's pretty much surrounded by Chinatown on two or three sides. What's left of Little Italy in Manhattan generally consists of a bunch of touristy restaurants; the "real" Little Italy neighborhoods are out in Brooklyn, the Bronx, and New Jersey.
