Radio rebels turn back dial to the roots of Cleveland rock on WNWV FM/107.3

Until December, the station known as the Wave played soft jazz. Now the new V107.3 (WNWV FM/107.3) is the first to offer the AAA format (adult album alternative), which combines new rock, old rock, new folk, live cuts, classic Motown, reggae, blues and soul.

It's a sophisticated mix that appeals to people (the target demographic is age 30 to 50) who have steeped themselves in all forms of popular music over the last 40 years. It's a 20-year-old format that evolved from album-oriented rock stations trying to hang on to their older listeners.

I don't really like it.  I've happened upon a couple of things they're playing that I like, and then they play 2 or 3 things in a row I can't stand.

I miss the wave!

it's mostly a snoozefest

sometimes 93.9 from windsor ends up on our shores, it's way better for adult alternative

I've listened once or twice and enjoyed it.

^I'm a big fan of 93.9, I really dig Canadian rock (Tragically Hip, Sam Roberts, Matt Mays, OLP, etc); I can get it pretty good on the west side.
